Re: Dumb questions thread
I'm trying out the new Adventurer class, but am having difficulties with the level-up menu. Perhaps because my computer has a small screen (it runs TOME at 1022x544), I can't scroll down far enough in the Class Talents section to get at some of the talent categories. Is there any way to A) tweak the settings to extend the distance I can scroll down, or B) remove unwanted talent categories from the list? I'm running with cheat mode enabled and am somewhat familiar with the Lua console, so running commands is an option.
Re: Dumb questions thread
expand all the talent windows. You'll eventually make ti to the bottom of the list.

Re: Dumb questions thread
As simple as that, eh? Many thanks.
Re: Dumb questions thread
Speaking of adventurer, the alchemist golem and mindeslayer extra weapon slot are the only abilities it can't get and the cursed item and anti-magic trees are the only things he doesn't start with but can get latter, right? Or did i forget something.

Spacetime Tuning, Teleport:Angolwen, and racial trees.
<Ferret> The Spellblaze was like a nuclear disaster apparently: ammo became the "real" currency.

Picked up a randart mindstar which is part of a set of items. How do I figure out which other mindstar it goes with?

Re: Dumb questions thread
It's a bit difficult. If you look above the mindstar when you are wielding it, you should have something like "Thorny, summoner's, slimy, flaming". The first one tells you the material type (and tier) and the others tell you al of the egos on it. It looks like that mindstar has the "summoner's" ego on it, which makes a set with "caller's" mindstars. I don't know an easy way to tell the sets in game though.
They are:
Caller's/Summoner's
Harmonious/(any nature one)
Resonating/(any psionic one)
wyrm's/(flames/sand/storm/frost)
Dreamer's/Epiphanous
Mitotic/other mitotic
Hateful/Wrathful

Re: Dumb questions thread
Note that the resonating, harmonious, and wyrm's mindstars are a little odd in that they don't form a set automatically. You have to weild the r/h/w mindstar in one hand and "use" it, then select the other mindstar in your inventory. Note that resonating and harmonious mindstars only work on mindstars that are already part of a set (so a resonating mindstar works with a dreamer's mindstar but not with a hungering mindstar), and that the mindstars of flames/frost/etc don't count as part of a set until after you've used the wyrm's mindstar to "call out the drake" from them.
Also, for the mitotic set, you don't complete that by finding two mitotic mindstars and weilding them together. You find one mitotic mindstar, then "use" it to split it in half, leaving you with two mindstars that form a set.

I took the liberty of pilfering your text for the wiki: http://te4.org/wiki/Mindstars
I... had no idea about half of that stuff. Seriously. (And I still don't understand it all, so I didn't modify the text except for fixing one misspelling of "wield".)

Really dumb question:
How do I give a rune to a golem and have it activate the rune?

Re: Dumb questions thread
Drop the rune on the ground, transfer control to the golem, then pick the rune up with the golem and use it as normal.
You can do this with most equipment and items the golem can use, except for gems. Those have to be installed specifically through refit -- for everything else, you can just take control of the golem and equip as the player does.

Hermit potion maker is at a choke point on the world map, preventing me from getting to where the ruined dungeon has randomly spawned. Am I screwed?
Re: Dumb questions thread
I think so, unless you activate cheat mode to teleport past.averaen wrote:Hermit potion maker is at a choke point on the world map, preventing me from getting to where the ruined dungeon has randomly spawned. Am I screwed?

Re: Dumb questions thread
Shouldn't a bug report be made so this can be adjusted? If hermit is COMPLETELY random, you can adjust it by making the hermit spawn in selected 'semi-random' locations, the way the dungeons do? (Or if it's currently semi random, simply adjust them so they don't overlap with the other semi-random spawns.)averaen wrote:Hermit potion maker is at a choke point on the world map, preventing me from getting to where the ruined dungeon has randomly spawned. Also note that while the refit option for equipment specifies twohanded weapons, you can instead drop and then have the golem pick up and use, a one handed weapon and shield. Whether or not this is worth it is up to you. Game doesn't actually make this clear.Frumple wrote:Drop the rune on the ground, transfer control to the golem, then pick the rune up with the golem and use it as normal.
