Hmmm so if I'm playing a Shadowblade then I need to imbue it into my equipment then? How is that done? I've been running around with some gems for a while now and not sure how to use them.

Also, separate question: how do you use rod of recall? I've tried a couple of times and though it drains energy (or whatever it is, that number out of ~400) it doesn't do anything.

You can also put gems into white rings at Angolwen.

The rod of recall should give you a count-down status effect.

Ok thanks. Couple more questions ;):

Are pinkish-orange items artifacts? I found an Arthurleg suit of armor and Splendourlady bow but it won't let me trade either one to that apprentice guy (and they're both powered by arcane forces)
I got "poisons" supposedly added to my talents but I don't see it there in my level up screen. What's up with that?

The pink items are rares, not artifacts. Mostly a sort of weaker randart, but yeah, the "apprentice" won't take 'em. Random artifacts are much more blatantly orange, heh.

Poisons should be there for rogues, at least. Don't remember if it's added to shadowblades or marauders, too. The tree might be locked, though. Can't recall.

Ya but it said it was unlocked that's why I was wondering. I got a message saying it was unlocked after I sided with the "Assassin" in some random event.

Also... do offhand weapons suffer penalties to their bonus dmg (like +5 cold) or only to their base dmg? Thanks

EDIT: Oh ya and what do I need points in to avoid the effects of magic cancelling traps and such? Just dump more points in magic or what?

This unlock is of a slightly different kind than the "put a cat point in it" lock/unlock. If you had started a rogue beforehand, it wouldn't have had the Poisons tree; if you start one now, it will.

Added effects like +cold damage or effect-on-hit are completely unconcerned with mainhand/offhand or talent multipliers.

I'm not sure what you mean by magic cancelling traps. Do you mean beam traps that can silence you? If so, high Mental save, high silence immunity, or a Mental wild infusion can deal with that.
<Ferret> The Spellblaze was like a nuclear disaster apparently: ammo became the "real" currency.

I'm having 3 small issues:
1)Non visited places no longer blink on my world map.
2)This is a about an addon, but maybe someone can help. I'm trying to use the "Fresh and Clean Language" addon but it doesnt show as compatible with b42 UNTIL I click on "show incompatible" button twice, then it shows and stays as compatible on the list but when I load a game I get a red message, dissabling the online part of the game. Just throwing thos out there if anyone knows anything about it.
3)After a while playing the world map tiles get screwed, usually about level 20 or so.

Well I was walking around and my magic passives kept getting turned off (and was preventing me from using my actives) and all I can figure is that it's some sort of "orb effect" from a trap. It wasn't a beam though. IIRC it looked like that font of life type thing (except it wasn't giving me HP, it was just killing my magic)

BTW how many classes are there in the game? The wiki says 22 but I see 41 options (ignoring adventurer, tourist adventurer and tourist) in the character vault.

Just counting the class page on the wiki I'm getting twenty four, and a solipsist makes twenty five.

A number of the extra classes in the character vault come from various addons, though, which is where the rest of it's coming from.

Did you check to see if you were wearing arcane disrupting equipment?

There's also a weapon ego that dispels magical effects, including sustains, on 25% of hits.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

I was getting random dispels of sustains with an anorithil. After some work, I traced it to one of the special (rare) artifacts - but dispel magic was not listed in any way in the item description. I think it was a hidden feature or linked somehow indirectly with one of the abilities of the item. (The item, and toon, are now sadly gone. The Vor Armory bosses appear to have been put on some sort of status-resisting steroids...)

Was it powered by "arcane disrupting" forces, with a nice lavender color? That's probably the most common source of sustains randomly turning off.

Hmmm well that's possible now that you mention it that it was an item interfering. That character is now dead so the point I can't check for sure.

BTW, I'm level a 14 shadow blade is that high enough to go do sandworm? I've already completed all the beginner dungeons as well as the woodcutter village (or whatever it was) and the maze. I was reading about some people putting it off till they were 20 but I'm not sure how you could do that since AFAIK I already did all that was available (save for the event that pops up with someone crying for help)

You can do any of the second tier dungeons (maze, old forest, sandworm lair, and daikara) around 12-ish, probably even a little lower, though daikara's a bit riskier than the other three. I usually hit old forest around twelve, go on through nur, then hit the maze, sandworms, daikara, in that order, clearing up various side dungeons and such as I go. I might back off from nur if my go at the weirdling beast doesn't work out well, but most classes don't have much problem with bulling on through, for me.
