Is anything being done about Maze Alt?

I know that this boss has certainly given me the hardest time. I'll be mowing down all other monsters no problem, use a little strategy on the other bosses, and then this guy hits.

Boom! From the darkness I am grabbed, unable to move, unable to cast any spells. I die. Okay, try on adventure mode. Same start, but this time I get to come back and I can actually set up my shield and cast some spells on him. Tried over the course of 4 lives, fully buffed, and still don't kill this guy. He just eats through my shields and doesn't seem to take much damage at all. I checked the wiki for advice, and his page is blank. So on my last life I just said screw it, and left the dungeon.

Was playing an Alchemist and then an Archmage for reference btw.

I think he may just be an anti-mage threat. Try keeping separate mental and physical wilds so you can clear silence and grapple and generate distance while his rush is on cooldown. Also, hit him later on a mage than you would on a melee specialist. Sun Paladins laugh at him so an arcane blade high enough level to have that on-hit explosion proc probably should as well provided you have a turn to shield. As an AB you probably want arcane eye from an escort. Use it to see through walls to get the turn to shield if he's not giving it to you naturally.

As an alchemist I'd also switch control to the golem so it's in front and gets grappled, which will leave the alchemist to bomb away. Not sure what to recommend for an archmage other than wild infusions and nuking him while his stuff is on cooldown.
