Re: crystal focus advice on Summoner
Thanks Theyleon for clearing that up for me. I am still getting used to the magic/antimagic aspects of this game.

Beware that you only gain one level per artifact destruction. So this must be done when the spellhunt remnants are level 4.The idea with the spellhunt remnants is to use the crystal on a white tier 5, turning it into a tier 5 arcane artifact you can feed to the remnants to level them to max.
Re: crystal focus advice on Summoner
Unless this was changed recently, I thought it was set to the tier of whatever you fed it?

I double checked the code and you are right.
What counts is the level of the destroyed item.
What counts is the level of the destroyed item.
Re: crystal focus advice on Summoner
Awesome, so the way the mechanics work currently the Spellhunt Remnants could be level 1 and fed a Tier 5 artifact and they would become tier 5. Right?

Re: crystal focus advice on Summoner
Yes. But Tier 5 artifacts or white weapons are not easy to find in the lowest levels.
Re: crystal focus advice on Summoner
It makes sense that the strongest weapons, equipment, ect. would be available only at the later levels of a game unless you have a very anomalous drop. I appreciate the reminder. This game has a great variety of items and I am still trying to learn them. In regards to this character, holding onto the Crystal Focus for a very late game use is probably not the best use. I doubt that he will live that long. There are too many areas that I haven't explored and too many foes that I (as the human behind the character) haven't faced before for me (the summoner) to be that long lived. As long as I am exploring new areas and seeing new foes and getting further then it's not time wasted however. Lastly of course, I have to be having fun, which I am!

Are you sure? I could've sworn that if you fed the tier 1 Spellhunt Remains a tier 5 artifact, that the gauntlets would just go to Tier 2...
And it was such a good idea...
Re: crystal focus advice on Summoner
you can:
1. sell it
2. use it somehow (not very effective on summoner)
3. feed it to spellhunt remnants
4. give it to Apprentice mage to get access to Angolwen (so you'll have access to both Zigur and Angolwen, just dont get near Linaniil if you go anti-magic route)
5. wait till you get Sher'Tul fortress and transmogrify to get lots of energy.

Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.

Re: crystal focus advice on Summoner
This is incorrect. I've fed many tier 3 and higher items to various Spellhunt Remnants, and the gloves become the same tier as the item they ate. Eg, feed the Remnants a t5 artifact, the Remnants become t5Xandor Tik'Roth wrote:Are you sure? Weird. That must've been a recent change. Either that or I wasn't paying attention at all.
