Hey, I've seen out-of-depth enemies appear, not bosses or anything, and they're throwing me around. I'm level 10-20 dungeons and seeing these unexpected level 35-40 enemies. Is this supposed to happen, and is it conditional on anything or is my Brawler just especially unlucky?

If you aren't opening 'sealed doors' (vaults), then they are just really unlucky out of depth spawns. Sealed door vaults (Or rocks in the old forest/trollmire, or graves, etc.) follow their own leveling shceme, and aare typically far stronger. Outside vaults, it's quite rare, but possible, for a monster in excess of normal levels to spawn.

Dirty Fighting and Dual Strike depend on accuracy for stun chance. Is that the accuracy of the weapon you're fighting with, or is it Dexterity-based? i.e. if your character is using Mindstars, will Wisdom affect the stun chance rather than Dexterity? What if your character is wielding a normal weapon and a Mindstar?

Hey guys. After playing for a while with the Defiling Touch tree of the Cursed I felt it was pretty sub-par for the least requirement of 7 scarce generic points. So I ran a quick search to see how others felt about it and came up with this:
Dervic wrote:
PureQuestion wrote:you need at least many items of the curse to reach the level of benefits. Ie, level 4 of the benefits skill only gives as many levels of benefits as levels of curse.

So you need 4 items of the same curse to reach max benefits.
This isn't true... Curses keep gaining benefits past level 4. All of the 4 benefits numbers keep improving as the curse level increases. Getting a curse over level 6 might have dramatic bonuses... a level 8 or 10 of the right curse might be amazing.
Though no matter what I try I can't go past level 5. I've tried 7 items with the same curse plus the 5th level of Defiling Touch (Dark Gifts maxed). Has this been changed in recent versions with maximum level being 5?

Hi guys, spell range indicators don't show up anymore in 1.0.5, is there a way to use the old overlay?

But now I have a new problem. For some reason there is no mouse curser to be seen as soon as I start the game. Maybe someone could help me with that one, too?
I didn't see an answer to this, sorry if it's already been answered. The mouse cursor works...better...on some OSes than others. Hit the Esc key to get into options. Go to Video Options and toggle Mouse Cursor to disabled; when you restart, you'll see your regular everyday OS cursor. I have to do this on my Linux boxes every time.

I've read that infinite scaling is introduced in 1.0.5 for the talents. How does it affect gameplay? Does it work for all campaigns? That means that I can put like, eight points in some talent I like, e.g. Evasion in the Maj'Eyal campaign?

in the infinite dungeon you can go beyond level 50, at which point you gradually raise the cap above 5 for point allocation

If this is a thread for questions, I've one for forum etiquette.

Say I want to contribute a race/class/lore/whatever, where would I put the topic? I would assume Ideas or Addons, but I'm not sure which.

I'd use addons if you are planning on making it, or else ideas if you just have the idea.

Your firewall is probably blocking it, you need to allow it to connect to ports 2257 and 2258

Two questions about the interface:

* When I press 'a' (I think this is the original binding but I may have changed it) to look at monsters or activate a targeted ability, the monster tooltip showing resistances, power/saves, abilities, etc. doesn't show up. If I switch to another monster using the arrow keys it then shows up, so if I want information on the first monster I end up needing to switch to another monster, and then switch back. Is this intentional or a bug? Is there a way to make it so that the tooltip shows up immediately on the first monster?

* Is there any way to instantly target myself for a spell (but not confirm, so that I can then quickly choose a tile near my character)? The default target for a Summoner summon seems to be the nearest monster (or, if that monster is too far, the closest point to that monster that is still within range). This is a reasonable default, but because the summon ability can target tiles (rather than monsters), if I want to summon something next to my character, I find myself needing to press like 6 arrow keys to move the target to the right place.

Should automatically be added rather soon. I've had it happen instantly and sometimes in more than a full day. Don't know what causes that. Possibly manual acceptance from the developer.

Yuji: For the targeting self there is a way, I know that. Think it's numpad 5, but not entirely sure if that also confirms it.
