Buttons dont work

Ok this is certainly a dumb question, but it kinda drives me nuts

I downloaded a linux version from the site (I'm on endeavour OS), and it works fine... except for one thing: When I click on buttons with a mouse, they dont work.

A bit later I figured out, that if I click on the text of the buttons, it doesn't work, but if I clicked on the free space in the button, it would work.

Which is completely bonkers, and if buttons in other programs worked like this, you would be complaining too.

So what the hell? How do I fix this?
