How do people activate Poosh and Bearscape?

How do people activate Poosh and Bearscape?
It looks as if people sometimes donate to make those two areas available to everyone currently playing, or something. I don't see how to do that though. How does one do that?

Actually, its a micro payment thing.
A small icon adjacent to character's name in the UI element which contains the name of the character opens a dlg which allows you to purchase and activate a number of things. Bearscape and Poosh are among these things. When you donate money to dg, it shows up as Voratun coins. Bearscape and Poosh cost 5xcoins each.
