Older Versions

Is there a way to play versions older than 1.4? Specifically I'm interested in playing the old Paradox Mage again for nostalgia.

I think the only way for you to play any older versions of ToME is to find someone who still has a copy of those.

I only have copies of version 1.6.x, and I think I saw somewhere in Steam forum that they still have copies of version 1.5.x, but no idea of anything older than that, sorry. :(

I haven't tried these, but ...

https://te4.org/download

You can download many older versions from the official te4 link that smithfield posted, but I'm not sure if there is a way to get your hands on older versions of DLC. Not necessary for just playing PM but figured I'd let people know for posterity. Hopefully that can be changed at some point but I'm not sure, presumably DG has a github history for those but who knows.

A weird issue I ran into on the official download page - I couldn't get them to work in Chrome, but I was able to get it to work on Edge. Not sure what that's all about.

Oh.. right.. I forgot about that page.. :oops:

Then again, OP said that they're looking for versions older than 1.4.0, so.. the hunt continues?

It so happens that my backups go back a long while, and I have available:
  • * t-engine4-linux64-1.0.0.tar.bz2
    * t-engine4-linux64-1.0.4.tar.bz2
    * t-engine4-linux64-1.1.5.tar.bz2
    * t-engine4-linux64-1.2.5.tar.bz2
    * t-engine4-linux64-1.3.0b1.tar.bz2
    * t-engine4-linux64-1.3.0.tar.bz2
I'd be willing to upload these somewhere if DarkGod has lost the originals. If he has them but made a conscious decision not to publish them anymore, I'm not going to go against his will.

I think this page has older versions:
http://www.zaimoni.com/zaiband/Angband.ref/ToME4/
They look to be betas of the 1.0 version
