I've come across various talents and item talents that reveal enemies, one that claims to reveal the map (Clairvoyance item I think). But are there any which fully reveals the map around you, including rooms you don't have visibility inside? (for example show you hidden chests enclosed between walls)?
Whenever I'm in a walled dungeon I'm always wondering if I should be trying to dig into large square walled areas in case there's hidden rooms inside. I did it a few times earlier on then gave up since nothing ever came of it.
Related question: if there isn't a "reveal hidden rooms" talent, then I noticed Shadowblade has a talent that lets you teleport to the other side of a wall. That would be helpful in finding hidden rooms, no?
UPDATE: I found an item with the talent Earth's Eye, which seems to reveal maps, but doesn't always seem to work. I'm in Vor Armoury, and on the 1st floor it was revealing everything, even when I'm in a dead-end it would reveal the other side of the wall. Now on floor 2 it's only randomly reveal some tiles.

Re: Is there a talent that reveals hidden rooms?
The reason the talent won't show you that part of the floor is because it is part of a vault which is any door that warns you before you open it. Any talent that reveals enemies or shows the map cannot look into or past them. Another thing to note, you cannot teleport into vaults either and the spell will fissile if you even try.
Along with earth's eyes, there are two other ways of showing the map. One is the vison spell from the divination tree, and the other is the burning star gem which can be used from the inventory.

Hi!
There is a talent that shows you "hidden rooms" (so the inside area within vault type walls),
and that is Arcane Eye.
It is in Spell - Divination tree, but it can be on Wizardhats too due to an ego.

CMIIW, but Arcane Eye could only 'see' creatures and not the whole map, i.e. not showing any items at all. It also will not reveal anything still covered by the 'fog of war', so it's kinda useless if you want to find hidden rooms with no creatures inside.Tradewind_Rider wrote:Hi!

PS: Tometips showing Divination talents including Arcane Eye

Re: Is there a talent that reveals hidden rooms?
There aren't that many "hidden" rooms compared to some games. I think the rooms that spawn unconnected to the rest of the dungeon are probably an error of the level generator, although I could be mistaken. There are several ways to reveal areas of the map: Earth's Eyes in Wild-gift/Call of the Wild, Vision in Spell/Divination, wands of clairvoyance, the Burning Star unique item, maybe some others. If you don't have one of these things, you're probably not missing much in terms of hidden rooms.
Once you get a feel for the typical shape of different zones, you may also notice when there's a large gap after exploring the area. You can take a guess and dig into walls to find hidden rooms this way too. Oftentimes there's nothing there, but sometimes you'll find a hidden area.
