Elemental Weapons

#1 Post by bibs »

I'm sure I'm just catching up to what most of you already knew, but am I missing something that using a Shadowblade with two elemental daggers is really powerful in the mid-game? A lot more damage than even using Umbral Razor, Spelldrinker or Silent Blade (three that I have) in any combo.

Legendary/Unique weapons are frequently not your best in slot option, although their unique effects can be build-defining sometimes. Depending what drops for you, many randarts or even just rares are often better for straight damage. Shadowblade throws out a lot of hits really fast so elemental flat damage (which is what I assume you're referring to here) stacks up really nicely for them in the early and mid game, adding +15-20 damage per strike on flat damage procs is really good when you can make up to 6 strikes in a turn.

This falls off later in the game as enemies' armor and HP scale into the heavens, where rather than flat fire or cold damage on your weapon hits you'll probably prefer to scale up your %darkness damage and APR.
Let slip the toast of war.
