Achievement based class unlock question

Are class unlocks that are tied to achievements awarded literally only when the achievement is gained as opposed to when the conditions to earn the achievement are completed?

I recently returned to the game, and I had wiped my unlocks sometime in the past for one reason or another, but not achieves. I've just noticed that when trying to unlock a particular psionics class, that I wasn't able to despite completing the conditions required (was not on easier difficulty). I suspect this is because I still have the achievement that unlocks the class, Dreaming my dreams (exploration mode) as seen on my profile: https://te4.org/users/ambiguous101?achv ... hievements.

Is this truly the case? In which case, I'd have to wipe all of my achievements to be able to unlock achievement based unlocks again?

First google tells me you don't get unlocks on exploration mode.

Yeah you do. You only don't get achievement based unlocks on easier mode, since you don't earn achievements there. Other than that though, everything can be unlocked in exploration mode.

Sure enough. I reset my achievements, and instantly got the achievement and unlock for solipsist after completing one dream in normal exploration.

Unlocks should not be tied to achievements themselves but rather to the conditions to acquire the achievement. As it is now, anyone who has reset their unlocks but not their achievements is permanently locked out from reacquiring certain things. I'm going to put this in the bug forums.
