Use Tinker in base game?

It a[appears you get tinker escorts in the base game and any class can also be a tinker, but i have NEVER seen a tinker escort? Any help here?

You have to unlock them first by playing past the Sunwall outpost like 2 or 3 times.

Then they should appear, perhaps you are just unlucky.

If you want to, you can look for your unlock file and search for this line.

The wiki says you need to beat Sunwall Outpost with two different tinker classes, while you seem to have played only as Sawbutcher. Beating Sunwall Outpost as a Gunslinger or a Psyshot should do the trick.
