Stealth-focused rogue build?

#1 Post by noxnoctum »

Can I get some ideas on this? I'm aware that rogue is considered one of the weaker classes but I'm only playing on normal so I can probably make out OK. Just wondering what I should focus on and in what order.

get the combat talents. Stealth is unreliable until you max it. And it's better to be able to kill things first than to be able to sneak around.

Stealth is amazing on Normal but it requires heavy investment, unless you go 5/5/1/5 it wont do much. Even after max investment if enemies can "get a glimpse of you in the last minute", you can try going for some items that give +stealth power. Unfortunately Stealth is less impressive in Nightmare and not even viable in Insane/Madness. It should still be pretty strong in Normal though.

I wouldn't agree with it being not viable on Insane. There were some mobs that made stealth impossible with the detection they had (150ish), but it was still nice on my shadowblade win.

Rogues (and stealth with it) will be getting a rework in the next patch. In the current one, I don't have much to say other than what has been said already. It requires heavy investment (5/5/1/5), and it's likely you will run into mobs that will see you no problem even on normal. Movement infusion will really help with escapes, as will nimble movements and rush if you decide to unlock that tree.

Traps seem like they would be a good fit with stealth, but they scale terribly. Early on they'll one shot mobs, but they fall off pretty fast. I tried numerous times to get a stealth trapper rogue off the ground in nightmare awhile back, but it never quite worked out.
