I'm kind of a newbie, and I'm still trying to learn this game.
This was the first necromancer I had a little success with:

Trying to put my first point in Lichform I went to fight Celia.
This character never had problems before, but I got completely destroyed, so I'd like to figure out what went wrong.
All my minions were istantly slain, and without any soul I could not summon others or replenish mana/life with consume soul, and I could not deal enough damage to kill Celia before she killed me.
So I'd like to ask more expert players: what did I do wrong? The build or the equip were not good enough? Or I should have just waited a few levels before trying?

Why don't you have any points in Dark Empathy, and why is Create Minions not at level 5?
If you want to use minions, you need to invest in them properly.

Re: Necromancer vs. Celia: what went wrong?
i know its an obvious thing to do, but just to make sure.
you did exterminate all the elite minions one by one, before engaging her. right?

I never go in there without 3/4 points in the summon sheep skill (can't remember the name). I always needs multiple soul refills in that dungeon.

Thanks for the replies.
My idea was to use the minions mostly as a buffer while I blasted with the nightfall tree, with some extra damage from skeleton mages.

So I have basically to specialize and choose if I want to use minions or blast, and then max/ignore the minion skills?HousePet wrote:Why don't you have any points in Dark Empathy, and why is Create Minions not at level 5?

Curse of the Meek? Actually I never used that, I used that as a stepping stone to get Forgery of Haze (yeah, I'm a noob).cttw wrote:I never go in there without 3/4 points in the summon sheep skill (can't remember the name). I always needs multiple soul refills in that dungeon.
Re: Necromancer vs. Celia: what went wrong?
You can potentially do both minions and nuking, but what happened then was you had spread your points too thinly.
You minions weren't strong enough and neither were your nukes.
Getting lots of talents over maximising your talents can seem like a good idea. But once you have enough talents you can't increase your damage per turn any further by getting more talents, because they have a turn cost.

Re: Necromancer vs. Celia: what went wrong?
Ok. I'll try to have just a few blasts (to be able to use talents around cooldowns) and put lots of points in them asap.
Thanks!
Thanks!

The sheep not only provide souls, they also lure the enemies into attacking them, and that can be a lot of damage you are not taking yourself.
