Why enemies counter flurry damage?

#1 Post by Rigsley »

Hello, I am a new player, and I've noticed that when I have attacked a rare or elite enemy with the flurry attack, they attack me the same number of times that I am hitting them, but they do not have an ability to let them counter attack. So how am I getting hit?

Well, they most likely had a piece of equipment that deals damage when hit
I write guides and make addons too now, apparently

You can go here for a compilation of everything I wrote, plus some other important stuff!

Includes general guides (inscriptions, zone, prodigies), and class guides (Demo, Anorithil, Bulwark, Zerker, Sblade)

Yeah, in that case it looks like they had spiked armor on. You should be able to mouse over the enemy and see "Retaliation damage" in their tooltip, iirc, or something along those lines. That'll be the amount of damage they deal to you when you hit them in melee.

Good thing to keep an eye on when you're playing a melee class, as it can quickly do a lot of damage to you if you're hitting them, particularly if you're hitting them several times in rapid succession (i.e. with flurry, or similar talents).
