Ashes of Urh Rok won't work with STEAM?

Hello-

I bought and dowloaded Ashes of Urh Rok to my STEAM account and it will not fully load. I can select "start new game" and everything seems to load (bottom bar moves all the way up to 100%) and then the screen stops and flickers. For awhile I ignored this and played a saved game but I now want to begin with a new character and game but can't seem to get the game to move past this lock-up.

Ideas?

Did you by chance manually download ashes? I've seen this come up when someone downloads ashes and puts it in the addons folder. Steam automatically downloads it and puts it in the dlcs folder. The game tries to load both, chokes.

The error you find in the log will likely point to where the issue is.
