Can't figure out how boss was resisting all my stuff

#1 Post by Morikal »

Scenario: I am level 10 at the bottom of The Maze.
The boss spawns as a level 17 (!!). Luckily I'm a super tanky/healy shield warden. (I had 3 strong heal talents at the time and a damage shield, and some mobility and cc stuff.)

I examine him: 30% armor hardiness, 3 armor, 6% resist all, 34% lightning resist.
Ok, great.

I attack him. I get messages indicating his armor absorbs my 9 arcane damage, my stone vine's 12 damage & 8 arcane damage, and my various other damage.
The fight took FOREVER. Like 200+ turns, I wasn't really counting, but used dwarven resilience at least 5 times.
I could do maybe 4 damage to him here or there.
My elemental halves did a bit more than that, but not much. His armor absorbed almost all the damage.

What gives? I didn't see anything that would let him absorb arcane on his armor, or so much physical damage. (His only talents were striking stance or whatever that brawler thingie is, and a couple attack skills.)

My character is here: http://te4.org/characters/159830/tome/8 ... fd2428a9d7
I don't know if there is a way to get more of my log? (If so, can someone let me know how?)

Striking Stance gives flat damage reduction. It's something to watch out for with Brawler rares.

There's a log file in the game's main folder.
