So I already was playing ToME and decided to go ahead and buy it from Steam, partially for the cloud save ability. As I understand it, I should be able to play a character on my laptop and later play it on my desktop. I'm just not quite sure how to merge this with Steam.
I haven't done anything install-wise. I've gone onto the My Profile site on te4.org and logged onto steam from there, so when I look at my profile from either computer it says I'm connected. However, I can't load characters from the other computer, even ones I've played and saved since then.
I'm guessing steam doesn't know where to look for the save files, and I suppose I could back them up, uninstall ToME, install it via steam, and restore the backup. However I wanted to be sure if this would work and what the new directory would be for the save files.
Thanks for any help!

Steam sync

Re: Steam sync
The Steam cloud saving is buggy.
Also, it may just be taking a while to sync.

Re: Steam sync
Non-Steam addons are not part of the sync as well. Luminosity, for instance, will not transfer from one computer to another. Marson's UI, if downloaded through Steam, will.
I'm not crying. I'm offering a sacrifice to DarkGod in hopes he'll show favor to me.

Re: Steam sync
So you're saying I shouldn't have to reinstall the game through Steam? That it'll just work with the previous install? It's still not, BTW, so I'm guessing it's not a matter of it taking some time to sync.
Re: Steam sync
It will only sync saves for the Steam version.
