Arcane Blade help?

Okay, I've read quite a lot of guides on Arcane Blade, but it looks like some changes have been made to the class (specifially Battle Tactics doesn't look like it's an option anymore?), so how should one of these characters be built now? Are they still viable/a good class, or has this update gimped them?
