how to I dump the log to a file

#1 Post by Jurriaan »

Suppose I wanted to post here how my character beat Atamathon in a single turn while walking backwards, or something like that, and I'd like to post information from the log, how do I get it out? I can take a screenshot, but how to I save it as text?

You can dump the file by opening the character screen (with "c") and while on that screen, press "d". The dump file will be saved as a .txt file, the path to it differs by OS (for me, I'm using Win7 and the path is C:\Users\Zicher\T-Engine\4.0\tome\character-dumps\charname-time.txt).
The last section of the dump then contains a few dozens last messages.

A train station is a place where trains stop.
On my table, there is a workstation ...

The te4_log.txt file is in the same dir as your executable. It records the combat log plus any errors that may pop up, but it gets wiped each time you start the game. If there's something you want to save, make sure you make a copy before playing again.
