Dumb questions Galore for beginner

#1 Post by deathknight1728 »

I unlocked the adventure mode where you can't die at all. I decided that I wanted to play but got no where as I didn't decide the rules. Im going to make numbers so its easier to sift through.

1) I paid and donated money to dark god for adventure mode. But I somehow either forgot which account went to that. Now with new computer, I can't verify or remember that account. I do know that the name I paid under was my real name through paypal. If a moderator or account guy can help, message me.

2) I wanted to play a finesse warrior that is mostly just a marksman that shoots crossbow bolts or arrows at enemies from afar, and then just decimates them up close when they get close. I don't know which classes will be good for that. Likely I would need 2 dexterity and 1 endurance per level. If someone knows which classes work for that, let me know.

3) I dont understand the traits or whatever that the game uses.
Can someone tell me if/or which of the traits you pick are from the start of the game and don't pick again.
Like in fallout1 and 2 where you get traits that don't change. Is that how the system works.
If so what are the other ones that you get per levels?

4) What is the main quest for regular basic mode and main boss I should know about?

5) About how long is the regular game?

Thanks if someone can answer them.

I don't know all the answers but here's what I know:

2) The time warden fits the bill perfectly. He's a dual wielding guardian of time and space that can instantly switch to a bow when needed. He has a lot of escape options but does need to be unlocked first. Look it up on the wiki if you want a spoiler.

3) Traits? Do you mean The masteries or talents?
You'll gain 2 class points and 1 general point each level, with every 5 levels getting 3 class points but no general. Class points can be spend on the skills to the left. Those are the class specific talents or skills. For an archer, these could be traps, flare arrows, rain of arrows etc. General points are used for the skills/talents on the right. These contain racial abilities, combat masteries and other stuff that most classes will have.
By spending points on skills, you unlock and improve them. If you hover your mouse over a skill, you can read a description and see the requirements.
At the tenth level, you gain a category point. These are used to unlock new categories (group of themed skills).

4) I just explore the world and follow the quests that I receive by doing so.

5) It depends. It took me about 3-4 hours to reach the master I think, which should be around 40% or something? Don't know. The game feels very long when your playing on rogue like or the default option, because running out of lives forces you to start over again with new insights.

2. Temporal Warden is pretty close to this, you have to unlock them but it's definitely one of the easier unlocks. However, Temporal Wardens are among the hardest classes to learn. You might want to try a simpler class like Berserker, Bulwark, or Archer to get the hang of the game first.

3. Nothing is only pickable at the start of the game if that's what you mean. I haven't play Fallout so I'm not quite sure what you mean.

4. Check the wiki for a recommended order of zones (http://te4.org/wiki/Zone_order). The main boss of the first half of the game at the end of Dreadfell. This fight is often very difficult for beginners and if you need help, you can ask the in-game chat or post on the spoilers forum. However, one of the best ways to learn how to beat fights like these is learning from experience.

5. It depends on how careful you are. I'd say the average game time is 15-25 hours for normal mode, depending on how fast you play.

Probably the best would be a Temporal Warden. They are fighter that can instanly switch they weapon for a bow and have skills in both melee and archery. It is locked class, the unlock is not very difficult, but it can only be performed by a char whose level is around 20.
You can also try Arcane blade. They don't use bows, but they have powerful spells that can attack distant ennemies and have outstanding melee skills. And it is an unlocked class, but not so easy to master.

What do you call traits? Chars have a race (dwarf, skeletton, etc) and a class (archer, archmage, ...). It give them a set of talents and it is immutable. When you level-up, you get means to improve your stats and your skills in talents that you select. Some new talents can be gained/learnt during the game.

Too long to answer. Dungeons are all different and bosses all have their strengths and weaknesses. You can either look in the spoiler forum for specific tips or in the spoiler section of the wiki.

Around 20-30 hours are required to gain depending on your skills, your char and your luck.
But noobs tend to have games much much shorter.....

1: Easiest way to find your account is to search the old computer for a file called online.profile. That will contain your username.

3: This game doesn't use Traits or anything similar. You get three stat points and two talent points every level. About every 10 levels you also get the ability to unlock something special.
