Can all classes make use of the Crystal Focus?

I only ever seem to get the error message telling me I must equip it. There is no option to equip it though.

I'm quite certain none of the Imbuing crystals (like Crystal Focus) will work right now. So... As a literal answer to your question, no class can "make use of" it. Sorry.

That is disappointing to hear. Did they get disabled for some reason? I saw old threads talking about the bonuses you get from them.

I'm not too sure on the details. I only know that they don't appear to work for imbuing purposes.

IIRC, they can only imbue white equipments.

No, they have their own activation to turn a white item into an artifact.
However a recent improvement to the golem interaction system had the side effect of making it impossible for anyone to use these gems.

It's a glitch. Recent changes to gems inadvertently made is so they, like most items, must be equipped to be used. Unfortunately, only mindslayers and golems can equip gems, so only they can use the Crystal Focus (and other gems, such as the Burning Star). This is fixed already in SVN and will therefore be fixed in the next release.

Incidentally, once the bug's fixed, the Focus is actually a pretty good artifact. You can only use it on white items, true, but it turns those items into artifacts in their own right. Combine with the Crystal Heart on a white armor for added fun.

I have a question about the Crystal Focus. I am running a summoner character and received this item as a drop from Bill the Stone Troll. I am very early in the game and obviously don't have high powered equipment yet. I think I just reached level 7. The question is, advice about the Crystal Focus. I have read that it is currently not working as it should due to some coding issues. Beyond that, is this item even useful for a Summoner? I haven't read it, but is a Summoner wielding a staff a terrible idea? Anyone's thoughts and opinions are welcome.
