Rescaled. This is why you can equip a +20 saves item, and only get +8 displaying on your character sheet.

To be more precise, the raw values appear on sources of the values, like talents and equipment, while the rescaled values appear where the values are used, like on the character sheet, tooltips for NPCs, etc.

Launcher problem: Error write directory is not set.

Is this a pre-launcher installation issue? I have never gotten a version that arrived with a launcher to install properly.

Also, is this game installable from behind a proxy now, somehow?

Why does my Alchemist Golem start with -6 stat? What controls this?

Golems (and characters) start with enough stat points invested to wear all their equipment; if your golem started with a particularly nice weapon/armor it dumps a bunch of points into strength to meet the stat requirement, even if it has to go into negative stat points remaining.

I have been playing Tome on version 1.0.0, on a Windows PC upstairs. Right now I have a level 28 Shalore Summoner. As soon as I finish that character, I will upgrade Tome. So I've never upgraded to 1.0.1, 1.0.3, or 1.0.4, on that machine.

But I'd like to start playing Tome version 1.0.4 on my laptop downstairs, with a new character. So on each machine, I'll be logged into my te4.org account, and each machine will have the following folder:

C:\Users\username\T-Engine\4.0

Is there a problem having two different versions of these folders in two different places? Let's say I finish the version 1.0.0 character. Is there anything I'd then need to transfer to the 1.0.4 folder on the laptop, in order to have all of my relevant data 'in the right place'?

Continuing from previous post:

OK, from what I understand, client-side files like:

C:\Users\username\T-Engine\4.0\profiles\online\modules\tome\achievements.profile

and

C:\Users\username\T-Engine\4.0\profiles\online\modules\tome\uniques.profile

have priority and so will reupload to the server when I log in from my client (rather than being nuked by the server-side files).

So the headache starts when I unlock an achievement (say) on the PC, but it's not unlocked on the newer version (1.0.4) that I'm playing on the laptop. So then I guess I have to *manually* edit the achievements.profile on the laptop to reflect the update on the PC. Is that correct?

Is there just a way to store the entire T-Engine folder in Dropbox and point *every* running copy of the client to *that*? Thus, there is one version of the T-Engine folder for any client that is running on any machine.

I thought there was an add-on for this 'portableapps' feature, but I can't seem to find it.

Hum I dont understand, it's not one overriding the other, yoru client upload your copy, the server *merges* it with its own data and sends back the result.
This can take 2 logins to achieve but it works

So it just doesn't matter? I can log in from either place, and the server will maintain an updated, cumulative list of achievements, artifacts, deaths, etc. accomplished from either location?

(There's a reason I put this in the 'dumb questions' thread; my question is a dumb question. :) )

As a Necro - my minions keep hurting - especially the super cool Skeleton mage!
Is that as designed? I fear they will blast me - their creator - soon...
Advice?

That's normal. Dark Empathy - the last talent in the undead summoning tree - reduces the damage your minions deal to you. At 5/5 it's 100% reduction.

OK, this has to be about the stupidest question ever. How am I supposed to play this game? I downloaded http://te4.org/dl/t-engine/t-engine4-osx-1.0.4.zip to my MacBook Pro. I unpacked the zip file and copied the executable to my Applications directory. I run the executable and it fills my screen with a graphic image and a single button that switches between "Disable background" and "Enable background". That's it. I can't even kill the app, I'm going to have to power cycle my laptop. What am I supposed to be doing differently?

OK, I figured out that if I try to shut down my computer, it minimizes the app and when it reopens it's in a configuration where I can view the menu options.

It seems that the app as built is incompatible with running fullscreen at 2880x1800.

When on the world map, do the varying health bars of the adventurers parties or the patrols mean anything?

Like, does green mean easy and red mean hard? Or vice versa?

Not in that sense, no. It works as a general indicator of health when they encounter other adventurer parties. I *THINK* it's supposed to indicate the likelihood of them surviving an encounter with another adventure party. But since I've seen orc ambushes in the red beat the tar out of a full green meter sunwall party, it may not mean much. You can see them go down though, when 2 parties meet (and only one leaves, lower then before.)
