For a yeek run, it's one of the best classes. I'm entering the Dark Crypt with 152 max HP and feel almost invincible because I have plenty of bodies in reserve with a huge HP pool and high blight resistance. I'm playing in normal though, on nightmare I probably wouldn't even have made it of the island of Rel as a Possessor.
Played as yeek on nightmare, it's hard but possible. Too bad my save was killed at 45 due to black screen bug. And at later game your HP almost doesn't matter anymore when you are sitting in boss's body with 4k-6k hp.

Worth noting that if you go down the possession tree far enough to get the "match possessed creature's speed" effect, the Yeek's racial speed boost is wasted while in a possessed body. Really bummed I wasted 5 generic points in it before I realized the anti-synergy.

ok i think there is another bug . shockstar should stun 7 turns on level 1 but it only stuns 1 turn. on level 4 it should be 12 turns but it only stuns 4 turns. i think there is a mess up with the secondary range effect.
can anyone confirm this ?

The speed issue with Full Control has apparently been fixed in 1.5.1.
Excellent, time for another Possessor run :)

I wonder if I can manage to clear the entire sludgenest as a Possessor...
I've gotten the "In the company of slimes" achievement before but I never managed to clear the entire area because fighting several level 100+ Boss rank slimes at once is just insane - but as a Possessor, you'll keep getting stronger as the slimes get stronger.

Thankfully the Full Control fix means you don't lose a ton of global speed from possessing those slimes!
Tbh sludgenest with possessor sounds really easy but you'd need to use stairs every now and then to change form safely.

Just won with a Cornac Possessor.
Something I learned in this run:
Spending a category point on Possession so that you can possess Boss rank monsters is fun but not very efficient. There are very few Bosses that you can possess and that are actually useful, like the Sandworm Queen early on and Warmaster Gnarg in the east (Gorbat and Grushnak would be awesome to have but they are Elite Bosses so you can't possess them either way). What you actually want is an overlevelled Dragon or Demon from a vault - I got a level 97 Champion of Urh'Rok in a vault in Gorbat Pride and that was all I needed for the rest of the game.

There aren't that many bosses on normal, but on insane you get lots of random boss rank enemies.

the backup guardians is basically the point where i would consider bothering with possessing fixed bosses since most of them suck

like you dont want to ignore possession entirely since you can still get weapon mastery from forms if nothing else, but forms are really weak on normal/NM since enemies in general are weaker

Well, you still can get some really nice forms from vaults in the easier settings. In my level 97 Champion of Urh'Rok form - I had 140 physical power, all saves above 75 (physical almost 100) and 5200 HP. I didn't lose a single hit point fighting against Aeryn and the two sorcerers and less than 200 HP against Atamathon. I also had a level 108 Forge Giant, three Multi-Hued Wyrms over level 90 and a few other nice forms left in the storage that I never had to use because I didn't encounter any enemy that could put a dent in my Champion of Urh'Rok form.
The Boss form I got most use out of before that was Warmaster Gnarg - good stats + Windblade and Giant Leap, that was more than enough to easily clear any vault in the Prides. The backup guardians were underwhelming except for the Orc in Daikara - around the level you fight them, you can also easily find high level Fire, Ice or Venom Wyrms which are all much better than any of the backup guardians (but I'd always take Snaproot, not to assume his form but rather for healing a better Boss form).

How are people getting started as a Possessor? I keep dying before I hit level 10, even when packing a Movement Infusion. I just don't have the firepower to go toe to toe with any of the rares I meet. Do I need to luck into finding a good ranged weapon usable at my low Dex and strafe? Unlock the summon early?

According to a certain someone, the one handed tree + mindstar should be able to carry you through a majority of the early game plus even early T2's.

Thanks for that advice.

I've never been one for NPC drowning (not playing on Insane), but I find that isolating Last Hope guards, sticking them in the water, and hitting them with Possess right as they drown creates a very strong start that propelled me past the uninspiring beginning. Mechanical Arms, in particular, was a beautiful combo with Psionic Disruption.

won Insane without drowning and other cheats.
yeah, it's hard at first lvls, but when you possess first boss/rare with huge hp and open vault with lvl20+ to possess them, game is turning to ezmode.

Madness is really hard, but insane is easy for possessor from mid to high lvl. Bossess/rares with defensive skills and huge hp pool (from 5k to 18k at end). Needless to say, i lvled from lvl35 to 44 inside ONE dragon body and lost only half HP.

Well madness is really different from any previous difficulties. But i found it interesting because it forcing you to use territory bonuses (heal area and etc).

How do Solipsism and Force Shield interact?

Is it the case that Force Shield is early on in the damage resolution mechanic, and Solipsism is late? ...so that if you've got a character sending 60% of damage to psi, a 80% force shield, and 500hp the biggest hit the character would take to hp would be 160?
