dual-wielding cursed?

#1 Post by ghostwolf »

I've seen it mentioned several times, but how does a cursed unlock dual-wielding?

there are no dual techniques for cursed, but one of the 3 trees cursed has, (i think its the stalker one) has its t4 talent that require dual to be used, or work better with it. just like block is best with shield, and cleave works best with dual.

since you are not a mage, and some of your talents scale with will power (or at least i think they do) picking up mind stars seems to be a viable option. but i am not a madness winner lvl expert sooo... someone else might give a better answer.

surge - "The speed of your movements, combined with the balance and utility of two weapons, gives you 17, 22, 26, 29, 32 extra Defense while dual-wielding."

and its repel, not block. block is something else.

You're pretty much correct, Radon26. All of cursed talents work with any sort of melee weapons, so it doesn't really matter what you use. That being said, One hand weapon, one hand mindstar is very good, since cursed don't have any easy to access off-hand mult increases and mindstars are always at 100% for the off hand.

Huh.. I've tried putting a weapon in what looks like the offhand slot and it won't do it on my Cornac Cursed. I thought it required a talent to dual wield. Am I missing something?

You can only offhand weapons that are offhand valid. Aka daggers, whips and mindstars. Unless you play a Reaver.

there are (ignoring shields and gauntlets) 3 sizes of weapons.

2h - weapons that can only go to main hand, and lock the offhand so you cant put anything else in it.
great swords/maces/axes, staves and tridents

1h - wepaons that can only be put in main hand, but still let you equip something else in them.
swords/maces/axes and shortstaves ("short" here, is an ego, not a separate item)

offhand - wepaons that can be put in either hand, as long as its not locked
daggers, mind stars (useless without the mastery, and even with, there is not much Dpa untill later) and whips.

ogres, have a talent that lets you use offhand, while also wielding a 2h weapon.
reavers, have a talent, that let you put a 1h weapon in the offhand slot, as long as it isn't locked by a 2h weapon.
