I'm assuming other people have little tricks with how they most optimally use their forgeries, as i'm finding with different races and spell selections they vary wildly in efficiency. Wondering what other folk get up to with them. They are summoned with as far as i can tell all your current buffs and cooldowns. (Notably useful with displacement shield vs things that aoe)
I've found Thalore forgeries prioritise getting trees out, but Yeek forgeries will never use Wayists. Rune of the Rift seems to get ~very~ high priority on the nearest thing in range if available (a superb use of a 1-point forgery on builds that otherwise have too many trash spells. If there's not too many spells available to dilute it's options it'll often cast an impending doom early leaving you free to pick something else or have a second doom immediately instead of on cooldown (if you do it first it tries the same target and overwrites, wasting a turn).
I was pretty annoyed to find wayists not working after the effectiveness of treant armies. A lich with Mind immunity and more minions looked very promising but alas no - Yeek ended up feelng very poor with pets between the lack of wayists and movement speed causing faster minion attrition. Though i think it still looks solid petless, with Thalore making for some pretty damn impressive skeletons if you only petbomb with Wrath of the Woods running.
They seem particularly effective when you ignore most (past moonlight ray) of the Star Fury tree, as points are spread thin and that tends to be 5/1/1/3or5. Leaving two trashy aoes to waste it's turns. Grave tree ends up really problematic for all but pure nukers with Chill either wasting a turn/killing other minions.
Any other spec combos that seem to work particularly well or badly with the forgery?
Edit: some more poking around reveals some amusingly desperate moves when everything it recognises is on cooldown. Surge of undeath? Pfft. Sadly still no Wayists even with ~everything~ locked.

I begin to suspect that no one actually pays attention to what their forgeries lob out, even though it's a doubling in power used carefully :p
Re: More Necromancer Minutae: Forgery casting priority.
Sorry, my memories of Forgery of Haze was that it'd Retch, followed by leveling everything in sight with 500+ mana of spells while I wandered off and/or spammed spells with it.
The AI usually does a pretty good job of casting enough spells by L5 to ram all of your possible spells onto Cooldown if you're "naturally" undead. Probably matters a little more if you're a Lich...

Re: More Necromancer Minutae: Forgery casting priority.
That's definately what it does for anyone, i'm just trying to eek out extra turns of usefulness by finding good or bad spells to possess. The tree screen of thaloren is making the master race even harder to pass up. THose things can take a Nightmare beating.
Good to know it'll retch early though.

Oh the rage. Speccing up to vampiric leech makes the retarded bastard put a high ai priority onto Cold Flames of all things. Bah!
