Reverse Alchemist

I tried a joke in arena i didn't think would make it past round 10, much less 30 (still alive, but i am taking a break)

Reverse Alchemist:
Violate every principle and put points into making your golem awesome. Grab enough magic to grab your next skill, but otherwise go constitution (this in effect still maxes magic). Gem points can be added when they can be used to make your golem better, but otherwise focus on staff, especially the defensive stance.

Golem:
All magic all eyebeam. For equipment, i went with a shield because it relies on eyebeam damage (and i havn't had a good staff to give it)

Equipment:
For gems, use mana bombs, the rest hasn't really mattered, but i went with rogue equipment rather than mage equipment when i finally got the drops.

Play:
How its worked is that i blast with the staff any ranged enemies, and throw bombs into groups when able (or white crystals if there are any), while prioritizing infusions whenever they won't go to waste. If i'm low on mana, i stop staffing all together to keep the golem abilities up. Here i get down 200HP, use drain life +heal or drainlife + supercharge once drain life won't be wasted. i don't avoid enemies at all, as they will swarm to attack me, which is my job, to tank for my golem (and then swap places with the golem to trade off) It takes a while to clear a wave as you can't do damage, but nothing has even come close to killing either me or the golem. I'd probably not put more than 1 point in golem portal if i did this again, however, as so far the retargeting hasn't had a great strategic opportunity.

I know this is probably totally bad, and i was expecting it to be, but since i have steamrolled the first half of arena so far, i was wondering if anyone else has tried this, and what they thought of it. [my race is dwarf, but i should have probably picked something else for arena]. So far it sorta feels like a low damage archer, who has more survivabilty than a bulwark.

I'm barely using bombs on my lvl 50 alch. I chuck a couple to soften up large groups but otherwise just zap with my staff. I square off toe to toe with Greater Wyrms and don't even think twice about it. Playing as a dwarf too, so this seems like a very viable build for this race/class combo.
