Alchemest Help
Everyone says that alchemists are one of the easiest classes if not the easiest but i can never seem to get one passed Dreadfall. Any build strategies. Thank yo in advance!
Re: Alchemest Help
I always pump bomb skills first and leave any golem-related skills for later. Get the radius on your bombs to max ASAP, along with self-damage reduction from bombs. (no good having a room-clearing blast if it kills you in the process) Having a few different element types helps for fire-resistant enemies. Don't forget to invest in gem portal, you can never have too many escape options.
How soon/late are you generally trying to clear Dreadfell?
[edit:] According to the latest release notes, Dexterity no longer a requirement for bomb range. (I'll have to see if it's been replaced with some other requirement though) You can invest in strength to be able to wear heavy armor, or some extra Willpower for mana during long fights. Constitution and Magic should be mandatory for you already.

Re: Alchemest Help
Senteth's advice is solid in all respects.
Range and non-self-harm are priorities, and damage is always important, whereas the fourth skill in that tree is useless (or at least I've never met anyone who found it worth taking).
Definitely take at least one infusion other than fire, or fire-immune monsters will eat you. You may wish to consider actually making one of the non-fire infusions your primary - fire does a lot of damage, but part of it is over time, which gives things a chance to kill you as they burn. Doing all your damage in one go has a lot to be said for it.
The golem skills are important for survival when you can't one-shot your enemies - being able to summon your golem in an emergency, swap places with it or instantly resurrect it can all save your life. I never bother boosting my golem's stats for offensive purposes, but YMMV.
The fire tree has been buffed recently, which is good since it was previously badly outclassed by the bomb tree. In my opinion, it still is (and it suffers a lot if you use a non-fire infusion as your primary). On the other hand, as an alchemist you lack flexibility, and your number one means of survival is to kill things before they can kill you. Being able to do so faster is never a bad thing. Nevertheless, I would leave the fire tree until you've got what you want out of the golem trees, since after a point having a meat (stone?) shield is much more important than yet more damage.
In terms of generics, extracting and imbuing gems is something you want to level to keep up with the gradual rise in material tiers available. The first two staff skills are also worth their weight in gold between them, as they give you guaranteed decent damage while your bombs are cooling down.

So here's my winning alchemist: http://te4.org/characters/15281/tom...89-fb5cc5fc9d13
Lost a lot of lives due to carelessness and some to bullshit (adventurers, oneshots). It's easy to forget how squishy you are if you nuke everything so fast. Maxed bombs early, then worked on the golem. Status effects were a non issue even without the wild infusion thanks to shalore racial and high saves. I'd definitely swap one shield for another healing infusion, just didn't find any that was better than my shields. Definitely not enough escapes for Atamathon though, he caught me just after teleport and I was boned. Leveled cold to unlock Ice tree, used mostly Lightning afterwards (daze!). Everything died in 1-2 rounds so fire DOT was useless. Didn't use shockwave, put some points into it after the last fight when I got lvl 50. Golem was 2-hander early, later gave him 1H+shield to be more tanky. Prodigies: Crafty Hands obviously (dex from items), Meteor was pretty useless and often hurt my golem.
