The 'Persona'.
Prodigies are powers that do not belong to a specific class. Sometimes these
broad gestures miss the target, but even so, the life force perseveres.
Reaching a point of specialization where even the useless becomes useful.
The 'Persona' is a power which represents, in game play, game language and
such, this experience and the realization of the lesson learned.
A 'Persona' requires
- a specific Class AND
- a specific previous Prodigy AND
- costs a Prodigy point.
general game-rule theme.
The lore theme, is that, the character becomes a specific 'persona'. Sort of
a (re) incarnation or embodiment of... a Persona.
Eg. 'Lucky Labomba'.
- Persona.
- Req. Alchemist. Lucky Day. Magic 50. Willpower 50.
- 'Lucky', upon recv'ing damage over the threshold, but prior to application,
recv's an R3 controlled Phase Door - replacing 'Lucky Day' random shift.
In addition, all attacks versus bosses have their normal chance to crit -
immunity to crit reduction of all sorts vs opponents of rank uniq and up. - Lucky's story follows, explaining how he/she/it came to be lucky and what
benefit was eventually found. - Upon selecting a 'Persona' the character's name changes to some algorithmic
permutation of the Archtypeal.
E.g. Upon taking 'Lucky Labomba', 'Bixby' the Alchemist, becomes 'Lucky Bixby' or 'Bixby the Lucky'.
Perhaps theres a graphical change too.
Alchemist class. It should, but I haven't done so. The original idea came to
me with another class in mind , and I want to leave this as a suggestion of a
possibility rather than a 'somewhat' finished form. It shouldn't be a stretch
for the inspiration present in this group to fill in the gap, if spark kindles flame.
More examples...
- 'Durka Durka'
a 'Massive Blow' Marauder Persona
kill shots become Corpse Explosions-like splatters.
(plus more) - An Irresistable Sun Doomed.
- A Legacy of the Naloren Writhing One. (needs a different weapon)
- Bloodspurt plus .. I don't know what, I've never managed to activate this
one.
targets. The primetime prodigies might best be avoided here, as they are
already 'useful' and the underlying theme is making 'useful' the 'useless'
although very few of the prodigies could be called that.
