From my friend, more about the error:

"More info about my patrols problem trying to leave the level may help!
What happens: Attempting to leave the map after an ambush, the loading graphic just keeps on going back and forth. While it looks cool, t-engine.exe does have to be killed in order to proceed playing."

They also say

My add-on's compatibility is very high, believe me. It might seem like mine is causing it because its implementations extend to so many different functions-- And thus, does a very good job of "revealing" overloaded behavior in other add-ons.

RE: "Strategy" error
Ah... I investigated the error message, and it's being caused because I forgot to include the dialogue for "Weird" Drakelings when they want to change their battle style, hahaha... I heard your friend was using "Eelkas", whom is a "Weird" Drakeling, so I know FOR SURE that's the problem! Sorry, this one is not even a coding error-- I just completely forgot to implement this! And unfortunately, your friend was the first one to report it. Since this is a game-breaking error, I might have to make a hotfix for this, even though I wanted to avoid any more patches until the next big one. There is literally no way around it other than killing off the Drakeling (and that sucks), or avoiding the Wilderness entirely (and that's obviously not possible).

RE: Tool/Lite usage
That part of the AI is actually DarkGod's "Tactical AI" system, so I have no clue what encourages them to use one object more than the other. However, I have noted one thing: If the object says: "Talents Learned: +1 <blah>", the Drakeling will treat that new talent as though it was one of theirs (and thus, use it VERY frequently)... However, if the object says: "You may activate this object to use talent <blah>...", I don't think Drakelings will EVER use it. That's an issue, and I need to figure out why standard actors will always use objects, while Drakelings will not...

I got a Lua error when I used Subterranean Suprise in Reknor. I have no other addons, so I don't know why.
Edit: I left clicked an enemy, and it mentioned the targeting system and the mouse.

It happened when I did it again too.
Edit: And again. Whenever I use my mouse apparently.
Edit: Nevermind. It happens when I DON'T use my mouse too (with a little bit different message).
Edit: Every time. But I love the skill.
Edit: Also noting a weird thing on Spoilers forum.

In other issue news, selling Impermanence Weapons also causes an error message. And now gems aren't sellable either.
Edit: Gems work if I didn't try to sell impermanence weapons first.

AHHHHHHHHH!!!!
I've made a TERRIBLE mistake!! That's an "Ashes of Urk'rok" particle effect-- People without that DLC (or have deactivated it) won't be able to use that talent without it throwing a "non-existant particle" error!! AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

RE: Selling impermanence weapons
Hm! I never even THOUGHT to try that-- Selling an impermanent weapon... I'll have to explore this then!

OotS is very compatible. This is on my end entirely.

I don't know how to fix it though. (And I can't turn the addon off right now due to an addon bug. so.)

Okay, that means turning off Ashes makes Subterranean Surprise kind of cheaty until that is fixed (No Cooldowns, yay!).

An update on "Odyssey of The Summoner" development

I've been on a bit of a hiatus for the last month or so in terms of active patching/fixing for the add-on, but I've finally found a bit of time to start looking into things some more. An update is coming very soon that will fix a few game-breaking issues.
Also, as long as I'm here, I can bet people are a bit curious about what I actually have planned next, so I'll try to shed some light onto what's going on (in order of highest-to-lowest priority):
  • Above all else, I want to make sure there are absolutely NO game-breaking errors. I prioritize this over anything else whatsoever-- And I'm still hearing quite a couple of reports indicating that... Though, I'm proud to say they are almost completely gone. I will always be focusing on this, no matter what... So I'm always interested in hearing about unique bugs, errors, or problems you encounter.
  • Next, I want to make sure the experience within each class is as customizable and creative as possible. The idea is to slow Tales of Maj'Eyal combat down by increasing endurance and reducing power. This allows the player to spend more time focusing on strategic play, rather than how big the numbers they cause are. For this reason, picking the right talents to accompany your battle strategy should be a player's biggest concern. Have I struck this? That is what I'm always trying to find out...
  • Getting the "mechanical" issues out of the way, I want to finish "describing" this alternate reality of Eyal that I've begun to introduce. I always think about the "T" in "ToME"-- That is, the "Tales". This reality I'm introducing intends to form more of those "Tales" that this world seems to imply, and maybe flesh out a bit more of this land that just seems to BUSTLE and FROTH with magic at every corner, twist, and turn. The recent "Legendary Drakelings" update is only the tip of the iceberg-- And I plan to go a lot further than that.
  • Finally, I want to establish a CONCLUSION to the "Summoner" plot. However, I can't form the whole puzzle without first getting the rest of the pieces... That is to say, it is rather obvious (and absolutely no secret) that I eventually intend to make War Hound, Minotaur, and Golem into playable classes (sorry Slime, but you're another "immobile" summon, just like Rimebark!). Each class has a (currently unimplemented) "Reflections" quest that intends to describe each corner of the mystery behind "The Summoner" and what has currently happened to "you", "The Avatar".
All of this said, I have a lot on my platter, and I know many are still hungry for more (although, many have already starved out, heh). The reality is that I don't see myself accomplishing all of this in an amount of time I'd like to call "Soon".
So, to be clear, my sudden "inactivity" is not due to disinterest or anything like that-- I am still here (I am QUITE here), but the next step in this project is a gigantic one-- Even bigger than the one when I first released this add-on. I don't currently have a deadline or estimated date or anything like that... So, in the meantime, all I can do is ask everyone's patience.

... There WILL be more... This story is not finished yet.

My friend ran into a problem where Briagh's Lair never spawned for them, but I don't know if it's caused by this addon, another addon he has installed, or a totally unrelated glitch. See attached screenshot for addon list + where it should be but isn't.

It's certainly not my add-on because Odyssey of The Summoner doesn't modify any map files (anymore), nor does it manipulate any event flagging...
By chance, is your friend playing in Developer Mode? If so, have they been frequently saving and reloading? There is a bug which causes the Wilderness to reset to its original state when you reload the game from a completely different zone.

... Sorry, it's hard to say what might have gone wrong, but if you ARE in developer mode, you can press Ctrl+A to bring up a "cheat" menu-- And one of the options will allow you to teleport to any location you wish. It's very useful for when you encounter bugs such as this. Of course, it doesn't fix the issue-- This is simply a workaround until we can figure out what went wrong...

"Odyssey of The Summoner" has been updated!! (Version 0.4.10)
*** Version: 0.4.10 ~ "Now with less game-breaking bugs!"

- Corrected a bug with "Blighting" incorrectly changing maximum life.
- Clarified "Inflame" text... Again.
- Added missing dialogue for "Weird" Drakelings when changing styles. Entering the Wilderness with a "Weird" Drakeling should no longer cause an error.
- Corrected an issue with "Subterranean Surprise" causing an error when used without the "Ashes of Urk'Rok" DLC.
- Corrected an error when selling Impermanent objects.
*** As a repercussion, however, Impermanent objects no longer have any value (and thus, cannot be sold anyways!)


PS: I have FINALLY gotten around to using some Versioning software in my development, so my organization is going to be A LOT better, and fixes should come out a little faster. This means (if anyone is curious), I can describe in detail precisely what changed I make to the add-on now. I know this has been requested, and I can finally accommodate it.

I asked and they apparently didn't start using Developer Mode until after they couldn't find the exit. So who knows what really caused it.

New bug: Every step in this area this LUA error is thrown.

(I'll send them the new version of the addon, thanks!)

ed: And don't worry about the ridiculous health in the screenshot. That was him editing the save file, not any mod.

Nice find! There are still A LOT of situations where I foolishly assumed "sources" would have parameters such as "size category" (such as traps-- OR, in this case: Poisonous Swamps). Swamp water OBVIOUSLY doesn't have a size category, so the talent "Relativity" is having some trouble determining what should be happening here, heh...

Ah well, this was bad timing since I JUST released the patch earlier today! It's fixed now, but I won't be tossing out the patch until I can catch a few more bugs. In the mean time, tell him he can avoid this error by turning off "Relativity". Sorry about this!
