New version for b40!

New things:
-player doll equipment 95% finished
-over 200 new or updated npc's
-new swamp, lava, sunwall terrain.
-some new objects, many fixed objects.
-over 300 edited talent/effect icons. many things are easier to see at a distance now
-removed 'data = true' flag in the ini. should load faster and be more compatible!

Hello everyone! I've been working on this tileset over the past several months, and it's almost complete. For now, you can download a 90% complete tileset here:

UPDATED FOR BETA 40!

installation info
1. Download the above file and move it to your t-engine\game\addons\ folder.

2. Load a game or start a new one. After your player loads, go to the optons menu -> graphic mode. Pick "Old RPG" for the tileset. All four modes (64x64, 48x48, 32x32, 16x16) will work. The tileset will load when you close the main menu. Also, as long as you have oldrpg as your current tileset, the new player windows will show the oldrpg tiles. Preview all the races!

3. If you have an older version of OldRPG installed already, please disable or delete it before using this version

4. Have fun!

Thanks for checking this out. And thanks to all the wonderful artists at Square/Enix and other classic companies - all credit goes to them for great character design! Finally a big thank you to Darkgod and crew for such a wonderful game, it really is a ton of fun! Your help along the way has been invaluable to this project as well!

I can't get it to authenticate online. I tried to split the thing into 3 files to fit in the addon section and I know that the md5 is correct. It just won't authenticate!

Running all 3 addons together will significantly increase your load times from the main menu, sorry for this. The game will also tell you that it's a bad addon version, and your characters will not show up in the char vault on the tome site. I don't know why this is, and I've been banging my head for hours trying to fix it with no luck. The m5 values are correct!

Other than these two problems, I hope you guys manage to have some fun with it! Feel free to post screenshots in this thread if you see something you really like!

DarkGod should really allow larger addon limits for this! Even if it's just a special exception for you.

Darkgod actually did give me a 70mb limit a few weeks ago! It just doesn't seem to work. All of my uploads have crapped out at 5mb and i get a time-out message. On the addon section, it says I have a 70mb max but it lies! I also can't seem to update my blogs either, or make new ones. I think my account is a little borked currently.

On another note, I have reason to believe this thread is being monitored by either lawyers or goody-two-shoes with too much time on their hands. For one, dropbox deleted the file after 10 minutes which means someone read about the latest oldrpg version in this thread, and flagged it immediately. Second, someone in Tokyo, Japan logged into my private facebook account last night. I don't know how they got my password or why they would even care, but I do know that Square has its headquarters in Tokyo. If they are preparing a lawsuit or cease and desist or some shit, well a.) I have nothing for you to take and b.) Your law team sucks at law if they are illegally accessing private information. All I'm gonna say about that.

Except for c.) it would be kind of an honor if Square thought the pack was good enough for a cease and desist letter! I would gladly stop of course, no matter how anal I thought their law team was.

Anyways there's a nice healthy dose of paranoia for ya.

Hopefully we can work out something soon, but I hope you understand why I'm not in a rush to do it right now.

Hello! I just wanted to say I absolutely adore this tileset. For some reason it's pixel-y goodness makes me like this game even more/makes me want to keep playing. Amazing job.
