Another update! Not quite at beta 4 yet, but i fixed enough stuff to warrant an update...

updates 04/29/11 beta3e
-fixed many, many terrain tiles. should now be pretty close to complete
-smoother 3d mountains, added snowy trees
-added some more foliage to the underworld
-fixed up the new towns from beta24, added and changed alot of townsfolk
-reworked entire elven lineup
-objects now about 80% complete. started work on uniques
-fixed a couple bosses. many more will be fixed in beta 4
-now includes the custom UI from this thread in the oldrpg\ui\ folder. see the post in this thread for more info

Wow, you've been working hard. This is really well done!

One suggestion - the '@' doesn't stand out much, so make a more stylized 8-bit @. Maybe give him a cool Indiana Jones style hat? I like @s with hats...

I was seriously thinking about your hat idea, until I found a cool sprite generator online! This is what I'm thinking about going with for the next version...

BTW I can disable moddable player tiles per tileset, you probably dont want to support it I imagine

I can always go back to the older 64x64 versions of those snow giants! I just figured I'd try to take advantage of the new 64x128 tile sizes, and those ff sprites were perfect.

Here's a shot of Ryal in the arena at 48x48... the yeek is wearing steel armor and a cloak plus wielding an axe!

I'd say the problem is not so much the 128x64 but the more high definition style. The charm of a lot of the rest of the interface is the really nice pixellated style. Would be nice if this were cohesive throughout the set.
