It always happens — one of those artifacts you don't want to carry around longer than you have to, like Ungolë or Goedalath Rock, turns up in High Peak or someplace you can't just duck back to the Fortress and stow it. You don't want to ditch it, but you don't want to lug it with you and take the bad side effects. If only you could just shuttle it back to the Fortress somehow…
Well, as you probably guessed,

I have an idea toward that end. What I've worked up so far is a sort of "collector pod" that you can get from the Fortress butler (or some other way in other campaigns) and use to send objects to a "collection portal" in the Fortress storage room (or wherever you store stuff in other campaigns). Back in the Fortress, you can activate the portal, which will dispense the sent objects and automatically sort them onto the storage room floor.
Now, I've got a working (so far…) prototype of this idea; the reason I haven't released yet is twofold:
- It feels kind of special-case. The motivating cases I describe above don't happen that often, after all.
- It feels like the sort of thing that could potentially be badly abused in ways that I'm not clever/devious enough to think of,
or at least could significantly alter gameflow in not necessarily desirable ways.
So I figured I'd solicit opinions on the matter before doing anything rash.
