I have a spare prodigy point - how do I get to use a hidden prodigy? I've tried everything....again, the obscurity of clues is too great. i suggest making things clearer.

When horn charge is used against a creature in a wall, like a shade, you usually end up in the wall yourself as well, suffocating. in the sandworm lair, this can be deadly, as you end up stuck in sand with no way out

wtf??? tannen's tower? i lost over 1000 hp, and all abilities there. and I DON'T NEED more offensive talents.
this is very unbalanced
(and btw, hitting z for rest goes forever in the tower. needs fixing)
this is soooooooooooooooo annoying. I can't escape and I can't clear the tower, not even the first level, so I am stuck here forever. dumb dumb dumb.
FFS - now I died in this Q@#$%@#% tower. OOTS = how to completely and utterly frustrate players
i will not play this addon again unless this is changed. it is f--king ridiculous

I'm not sure why people are saying that Hydra's breaths stop being relevant. I'm level 36 and aid/thunder will still hit for 400ish and crit for 800ish. Doing that kind of damage at range 12 isn't something to sneeze at.
Also Re: Orb of the Self. The bonus (even the upgraded bonus) doesn't seem worth the use of a clasp slot. Would much rather have this as a carried bonus.
Further getting frustrated that I can't seem to unlock the hats/necklaces prodigy. Finding so many hats with "Inspect" options.

I remember getting it. Totally at random in derth arena at level 8 or so.tabs wrote:Further getting frustrated that I can't seem to unlock the hats/necklaces prodigy. Finding so many hats with "Inspect" options.

RE: Hidden prodigies
They're hidden for a reason. I'm not about to give you hints on how to get it-- Though, they're ALL super obvious, and you could easily discover each of them by accident just by playing normally...
RE: Sandworm Lair
That was patched recently. Didn't you update the add-on...?
RE: Entering a wall with Horn Charge
Ah. I can see how that happens. I'll fix that.
RE: "I quit"
Cool off a bit and try it again... Though, maybe this time with Drakelings. They're (almost completely) free damage and tanking-- You can't really go wrong with raising one. Plus, when you create one at a high level, they start off WAY stronger than normal, so they have MUCH greater potential if you raise one later in the game.
Remember that I never intended Fire Drake to fight on its own (even though the opportunity is there). It's like having a Gun+Bayonet-- But only using it to fire and not to stab. So, if you're having a hard time getting through a part of the game by yourself, this means I've done something right and you'll need to start thinking about bringing "companions" the next time you go to "that place"...
Hint: "Abyssal Flame" works wonders against enemies that can "resurrect"!
@tabs
RE: Breaths are still relevant!
My personal experience:
The INTENSE damage boost you get from Mind Crits make breaths stay VERY relevant, even into the late game-- AS LONG AS you invest into critical hit rate.
I started putting points into Cunning after maxing Willpower and Constitution-- Then, I got Talent Level 5 of Underdog and Talent Level 10 of Predation. My mental crit rate was, at least, 70% or higher, so my breaths remained VERY relevant, even into the end game.
RE: "Orb of the Self" is garbage...
"Orb of the Self" is actually a consolation prize-- And you'll automatically take this instead if you (somehow) lose against your "rival".
It's meant to be the poopy-garbage lifelink that offers high longevity, but nothing really impressive/amazing. Though, the category point is super appealing and makes it worth it, if you ask me.
Also, "Orb of the Hydra" is similar in that it offers an absolutely ENORMOUS longevity, as well as a tiny bit of regeneration. This is ideal for patient players who want to scout/examine their surroundings (rather than press "Auto Explore" and throw caution to the wind).
I've done countless play tests, and if you're REALLY hauling ass and not getting distracted by side quests, it takes, AT MOST, 15000-20000 turns to get back from the Far East-- However, I didn't want to gimp this for players who like to finish the Far East slowly and patiently. This is why you have the offer of a long lifelink over the other ones that give specific, useful powers, but are (usually) much shorter.
Hint: Try activating your Lifelink when your life is below 50%...
RE: Where's the hat prodigy?!?!
PS: Everyone, don't forget that I've opened a thread for Odyssey of The Summoner spoiler/discussion in the Spoilers thread. If you need to talk about things, or where to find them, DO NOT do it here. This is a NO-SPOILERS ZONE-- ESPECIALLY mid-to-end-game, post-Dreadfell events.

Re: "Odyssey of The Summoner" is OUT!! Find it here...
Breath damage stagnates, didn't say they stopped being useful! 800 damage off a crit isn't bad, but not super great late game. I think it's easy enough to get mind crit through those 12 equip slots than cunning still, as well. But the stacking group dots from the coatings, chance to lower stun immunity, and the easy group Burning Shock/Spydric Poison? Those are awesome.

I can't seem to replicate the "entering a wall" thing with "Horn Charge". Can you describe exactly how you did it and what happened?

Giving speed to player on start is good, but it doesn't help at all when patrol is next to Derth at the game start. Maybe you also/instead could nerf the speed of Allied patrols so it would be at least in line with adventurers and Zigur? They seem to be at least twice as fast and always keep following you step by step when Zigur patrol would long ago stop and wander off in a different direction.
About Recuperate: I seem to be able to do much better when I don't put points into it and focus entirely on natural combat instead. Maybe because Recuperate doesn't help at all when enemy can hurl several very high damage (like >50% of your hp) talents in a row and those seem to be the main problem for my hydras. Overall I think it doesn't really matter if it restores 40% with healmod or 80% without because either way it's not enough. I still like an idea of the talent and might give it another try later.
When using Sturdy Heart active and becoming overencumbered the effect "burdened" (the one that causes you to empty stomach and doesn't allow to move) does not update until you drop or pick up something.
For some reason having addon active while playing Orcs campaign I get errors in end-game vaults with corrupted lava floor. http://imgur.com/a/8lRz1
Also while dreamscaped my clones were overencumbered which I don't think is vanilla behaviour (as they don't even have access to inventory or equipped items it wouldn't make sense).
I know it's my fault for not disabling addon, but the last one sounds like it can be a problem for avatars too. Otherwise I haven't noticed any issues.

RE: Patrols
I have done what I can about patrols. I am completely against "removal" of ToME features in an add-on, and unfortunately, "Patrols" are a feature of ToME, so...
RE: Ignore Recuperate
... Why not do both? It's only 2~6 points-- And frankly, Ceaseless Blood can save your life in QUITE a few ways. Also, don't forget: You can DEACTIVATE Recuperate to INSTANTLY be healed by its total effect-- So "it's too slow" should NEVER be an excuse!
... However, I think I know how I can improve its usefulness now. You'll be seeing this in the next update.
RE: Sturdy Heart overburdened?!
Oooooh... "Encumbrance" probably isn't being checked when Sturdy Heart turns on and off. I was certain this was already built into ToME, but I guess not. How strange...
RE: OoTS breaks Orc campaign!
Do you mean "Embers of Rage"...? Hrrrm... The truth is, I don't own that expansion yet; I haven't even played/seen it, so I have absolutely NO clue what interactions it might be having with Odyssey of The Summoner...
That said, all I can suggest for now is that you don't have "OoTS" active when playing Embers-- I can't quite help you on this case...
RE: Overencumbered Dreamscape Clones?!
Heh... I was really hoping someone would finally come to me with a REALLY strange scenario like this. I always wondered what would happen with A LOT of my mechanics if the character were suddenly cloned en masse. I'll definitely have to have a look at this!
RE: Should have disabled my add-ons
Although you are assuming ALL responsibility for what happens when you use my add-on outside of its own context, it is STILL *MY* responsibility to make sure these kind of things happen at a minimum.
If you can send me any error screens, screenshots of the moment-- Or even your character itself, these are all things that will GREATLY help me figure out what's going on and what's wrong. I can solve any problem almost INSTANTLY if the error can be replicated (located and reliably reproduced).
