Re: [v1.0.0-1.0.5] Ignore Race/Class Locks
Hallo, I'm not sure if you're aware, but this doesn't seem to unlock talent trees for the Adventurer.
Still tremendously useful. I played for two months without internet, and now have to unlock everything again. >>

? I haven't actually played any Adventurer characters; what specifically is missing?astralInferno wrote:Hallo, I'm not sure if you're aware, but this doesn't seem to unlock talent trees for the Adventurer.

[sound F/X: source diving] Ahhhh, tricksy Adventurer class, doing its own separate talent tree lock checking in its birth descriptor instead of using the checks I bypassed. Little bit of work, though, and I think I've got those checks bypassed too. Just pushed out that new release.astralInferno wrote:Hallo, I'm not sure if you're aware, but this doesn't seem to unlock talent trees for the Adventurer.

It seems that this version is not up to date. Several unlocks are no longer unlocked.

I would adore an addon sweep for this, as well. I most dearly want to splash some Mesmer into a LOT of things. (Especially once the last greatsword talent gets fixed~)

As the description says, this addon doesn't actually unlock anything; it just bypasses the lock check for races and classes (and some birth talents). Is there something in particular that isn't working anymore?Gunthar wrote:It seems that this version is not up to date. Several unlocks are no longer unlocked.

If you really want to go next-level on this mod, you could take various addon classes that dont automatically appear in Adventurer, say, the Mesmer for example. I'm quite fond of a lot of their skills, even though one in particular is bugged.

[sound F/X: source diving] Ah, the 'not_on_random_boss' flag. Hmm, I might be able to work with that; it'd probably end up being a separate addon, though. Unless there are any addon classes with talent trees that have to be unlocked? That would probably require the cooperation of both addons...Teyar wrote:If you really want to go next-level on this mod, you could take various addon classes that dont automatically appear in Adventurer, say, the Mesmer for example. Well, I hope this is what you had in mind...Teyar wrote:If you really want to go next-level on this mod, you could take various addon classes that dont automatically appear in Adventurer, say, the Mesmer for example. I'm quite fond of a lot of their skills, even though one in particular is bugged.

It seems that 1.2.5 requires a new version of this addon. it is not even shown in the add ons in the game.
Strange bug. it is not visible in the add on window in the game but it is still working.

Will this add-on work correctly with v14x?

Re: [v1.0.0-1.0.5] Ignore Race/Class Locks
This addon doesn't need any updates for the 1.5 release, but I figured I'd take the opportunity of a new locked class to add some Frequently Asked Questions that I can link back to:
Hey, the character creation dialog still says I have locked races/classes! What gives?
Well… yes. As the description says, this addon doesn't actually unlock anything; it just bypasses the code that checks locks for races and classes.
Will this prevent me from unlocking things?
Races and classes can be unlocked in the usual manner while this addon is active. The author, for instance, had the pleasure of unlocking Mindslayers with a Mindslayer.
The latest version of the game has a new locked race/class. Will I need a new version of this addon to access it?
Probably not. As long as the new locked race or class uses the standard locking code that this addon bypasses, it should be made available by this addon with no changes needed. (This doesn't include donator-only classes, which this addon cannot unlock and wouldn't if it could). If it does happen that some future race or class is locked using some non-standard locking mechanism not bypassed by this addon, here would be a good place to report it as a bug.
What the heck is this Runic Golem thing?
Apparently it's an experimental race from an early beta version that was abandoned but not removed from the code, simply locked. Since it uses the standard locking system, this addon incidentally makes it available; we do not consider it worth the effort to go to special effort to prevent this from happening. The race implementation is, of course, extremely old and unlikely to work, so proceed at your own risk.

Re: [v1.0.0-1.0.5] Ignore Race/Class Locks
Re: Runic Golem i'm pretty sure it's not even possible to win one since you're treated as undead and don't get the cape. Maybe the fortress cloak effect lets you talk to the LH owner?

I can't believe this addon is even allowed - it's basically cheating...
