You can code in half X damage half Y damage, but... it's usually easier to code in a damage type. >>
If you look at the code for ToME proper, /everything/ is handled by damage effects. Most blind talents, knockback talents, DoTs, it's all handled by making 'Blinding Acid' a damage type. Making a damage type that's half and half is relatively easy.

You can also input a function as the damage type, which is useful if you have no intention of ever using this particular combo of damage/effects anywhere else.

FWIW, I've never been able to properly make use of Creeping Dark. It never seemed to have any discernible impact on my fights as a Doomed, other than the obvious opportunity cost of spending talent points in better and more useful talents that actually did things.
Unveil: Have the bonus damage on Unveil apply if, at time of usage, either you or the enemy is invisible/stealthed/otherwise-unseen? The plane of darkness bit I mentioned is probably better suited as class-specific flavor rather than actual mechanics (though if you wanted this alternate-plane-theory to have mechanical implications, adding a small amount of % all res while stealthed could do the trick)
Re: Dark Decoy, yeah, I was thinking exactly that, have different abilities based on desired movement direction, like how we have Warp Mines: Towards and Away. Warp Mines' implementation actually gave me that particular idea.
Re: Gate of Madness & summoning, Void Horrors were the first thing that came to mind, especially since their concept is neat and you don't see them all too often. Horrors in general definitely fit better than Duathedlen (sp?), as the latter are demons from Goedelath (aka the Fearscape). This class doesn't have a particularly demonic/vim-y/Uhr'Rok twist to it
on darkness res pen: I must have not noticed a talent that granted it. As long as it exists somewhere, I'm not too picky.

I want to get back into coding, but it's daunting. I barely knew how to do anything to begin with, and it's been ages...
Trying to solidify ideas right now. Silly me didn't realize I already put some in trees last time...silly Nemmy. x3
Torment/Madness damage is definitely a cool idea for the Mind talents! If I can figure out damage types, I'll consider it for a few talents(Heart Extraction's deathsplosion would be perfect!)
Problem is, some of these talents are really cool...and I have no clue where to begin on coding them, bah. Maybe I should start coming through addons to find similar things, then ask for permission to use any of the code to help with this. The biggest roadblock right now is me having no real idea how to code things. >.>;
