Brawling Adventurers - A long time coming.
Fixes the bug preventing adventurer's from receiving the correct combat speed when using gloves/gauntlets to attack. Also adds a set of leather gloves to starting inventory for adventurers. (1.1) Added the "Empty Hand" talent, now permitting adventurers to see glove stats.
UPDATING FROM 1.0 WILL NOT ADD EMPTY HAND. You'll need to start a new game with 1.1 to get that added. If you already have a savefile from the first version, either abandon it, or play it till it dies. You should still play fine with the update, but it won't add empty hand until the next new character.
What this Addon Changes: Overloads adventurer.lua
Should be it.
For obvious reasons, this addon is incompatible with the Adventurer Starting Items addon. And anything else modifying the existing adventurer.lua file.
Uploaded at Here.
Known issues: Has not been extensively tested, but early tests appear to both grant attack speed upon being 'unarmed' and take it back away if you put a weapon on.
Reported bugs: None Currently.
Potential flaws: Currently, adventurers learn the "Empty Hand" talent on birth. Brawlers do the same thing. Unlike brawlers, adventurers can focus on a weapon build, and then take flexible combat. This would theoretically increase (significantly) the power of the unarmed blow from flexible combat, above what would be the norm. I would prefer to have the empty hand physical power bonus be learned only when you learn a level of unarmed combat, rather then just be something you are born with. (Thereby forcing you to invest a cat point in the appropriate tree) However, I cannot yet wrap my head around the lua to do so. With luck, future updates will fix this.

Nice! Thanks for this, it scratches an itch of mine.

Re: Brawling Adventurers - A long time coming.
Adventurers are pretty flexible, its fine they they get more from Flexible Combat.
And they will never be balanced anyway.

Bump by request of darkgod.
A better way to integrate this that I wasn't able to do at the time, would be to have empty hand be learned on gaining (and unlearned on losing) a level in unarmed combat training. (And granted by flexible combat, as it currently is.) That's a 'cleaner' method then just adding it by default to brawler and adventurer (like I did) on birth.
Gloves and the attack speed line are the only other things added.

Unarmed Mastery is a Cun 18 talent, so it's not learnable by many starting Adventurers -- nor even by quite a few level 1 Brawlers.
Note that Brawlers do NOT get Unarmed Mastery for free.

I thought it was one of the force-learn talents? (and could end you at negative stat points, in order to force learning it.) Like when golems spawn with voratun weapons, forcing stat points high enough to equip. If brawlers had no unarmed mastery, they aren't fighting for much of anything anyway. Would be like a berserker with no weapon training, or an archer with no bow/sling training.

You can try it and see
The only "force stat" thing on Brawlers is their leather armor, which forces Str 10 (so Yeeks have fewer spare stat points).
