My idea is for a class that draws inspiration from D&D Melee Rangers and "A Song of Ice and Fire"'s Wargs. Neither of these are 100% what I want this class to be.
The class would be a melee/equilibrium caster, but distinct from the wyrmic.
The idea is, the PC (player character) would have a pet (a wolf, bear, etc., or maybe chosen at the start, if that's even possible), much like the Golem of the alchemist. Some of the utility abilities of the alchemist would have to be translated over (such as revive and healing talents), but would not cost gems. The PC could take control of his/her pet, and it would have it's own abilities and skills. I'm not sure what they would be, but I was considering some more rogue-type skills (as in, the pets are stalking and hunting and debilitating their prey), some de-buff skills, like fear inducing of stunning or bleeding, or some burst damage type skills. The idea would be the pet would go in a cause mayhem, or damage, or whatever, while the PC could also enter a melee, and be able to survive, using some more survivability/supportive skills to stay alive, and help his pet. The hope being you could "trust" either of them without the other (feel safer fighting with the pet even if not right next to the PC).
As to coding/making this happen...I can't code, so maybe someone would want to make this for me :3
