Almost got an insane win

My antimagic cornac summoner went into the fight very confident, but then it turned out argonial had high level vitality and was basically invulnerable unless I had like 10x the damage output. People in chat kept telling me to use the staff, but I didn't have 40 mag so I couldn't equip it.

I wonder what other solutions were. To not get in this situation. Like having very offensive gear in stash or healing nexus lvl #?

Went back in, and found I had just enough +mag gear to equip the staff actually, but I can't use command staff as it's a spell, so it mostly just boosts fire damage, which isn't enough, and the active effect on the staff deals 30% damage, which isn't enough when he quickly heals whenever below 50%. Healing nexus wouldn't have likely helped due to spine of the world, and with all the statuses my summons usually inflict, it would be impossible to guarantee that healing nexus in particular lands.
