[1.0.5] First Normal RL Win - Yeek Solipsist

#1 Post by anp »

Hello guys!

http://te4.org/characters/77557/tome/18 ... bd53dcdd46

First of all, after many tries of Insane Adventure difficulty, I just wanted to relax, but due to me being the achievements whore, I decided to try out normal roguelike difficulty for the first time ever.
I heard that the Yeek Solipsist is ultimate combo but had no experience playing it on high levels (died always like at 20ish levels on Insane). So I took it.

I have to say that this was the first character who actually used the items from the Vault; and this was the most powerful creature since I started playing ToME (ofc, Vault items helped alot). I have never seen on any of my chars 80+ main power (mind power in this case) and all saves 70+; Mind Sear dealt like 2.5k crits and my thought-forged warrior could produce 1.8k crits on high level creatures (rush etc.)

In the late game I experienced a horrible bug related with damage taken / reflected but figured out that this was cause of the Shard of Insanity from the Vault, probably, old version of game it was.

After taking the Clarity, the leftovers of game were max easy.

The one thing that I don't understand is that I couldn't revive myself with the Blood of Life (I'm 100% sure I got it at 4x level and used it on self) after that I have sacrificed myself. Very sad thing cause I had some good items wearing and for vault also. Dear adventurers, is this bug or just supposed to be like this? I'd be happy to continue and clean out the Room of Death and so on, if it'd be possible to fix out.

Suming up, I enjoyed alot playing such character and I think I'll choose this build for beating Insane/Adventure difficulty!

P.S. I found the Crimson Robe at the first level of the High Peak while already wearing the vaulted Drakeskin Armor and ofc my armor was better choice (atleast I think so); also please mention the bought-for-4k lite source, named in honour of the Faeryan, which provided me with +17 (!!!) light radius and the high quality Track ability (I had one at 0.8 mastery, though).
Topics of my winners:

Lolwut? Why? :O

The Yeek sacrifice is permanent and no amount of lives or death evading mechanisms aren't going to work there. After all you sacrifice your life to bring Way into the world (or prevent it from doing it). If you'd somehow would come back to life afterwards it wouldn't be a sacrifice, would it?
Stronk is a potent combatant with a terrifying appearance.
