So now I know how hard it hurts. I should have finished the main quest first, to get my first win. I had no trouble with the Prides, or any backup guardians. Didn't know Atamathon was that much off scale, he one hitted me for about 1900 damage. (1300ish HP + 600 from heroism)
Here's a link to the char dump. I don't usually wear Garkul's Teeth, or the teleportation torque, I swapped the Shard of Insanity and Tree of Life for those in a desperate attempt to escape Atamathon.

Yes, very few risk him prior to winning. He was buffed recently too but making him tougher. You need movement and ways to reduce his saves and or talents, so you can give him a negative status, many of which though he is immune to.
He will also lose track of you if summons distract himim and you teleport away.
