Mission Impossible!

#1 Post by madmonk »

OK, I feel as if the time is right for a challenge... This is a preliminary simple one, just to see how the game plays and so on!

You are a lowly Bree-man (male or female) and have been cursed (no, not the the Class!) by your parents never to enter a shop. You have such a marked aversion to shops that you cannot make use of any of their facilities. This should not be a problem since you consider yourself quite the adventurer...

So the task is as follows:

Race: Bree-Man
Class: Any
Forbidden: Shops

How far can you get?

Enjoy!!! :D

Jon.

Does this allow the jeweler craftings or not ?
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

Does receiving 50 gp worth of personal tutoring in combat count as entering a store?

If a monetary transaction is involved then the answer is no...

A little challenge game? What fun. I'm going to presume from a role-playing aspect that my character's parents were viciously murdered by rich merchants, and so he/she despises shopkeepers and vendors of all kinds. Thus if I get the Trapped quest that damned merchant's gonna get something awful up it's ass...

Will play with a random class, since that adds to the fun.

Playing an archer and just finished Carn Dum. The lack of identity sources is probably the most annoying thing so far (although going in to face that purple dragon with ZERO cold resistance was a bit scary). Found a glowing wand in the old forest that was very useful until I could get my scatter shot/piercing shot up to speed. For the first time in a long while I've conquered all the lesser dungeons (mostly scouring for probability travel/teleportation). I'm up to character level 20 now. The lack of lugging items to sell has allowed me to cart around a suit of mithril armour that I'll use once I get the strength for it.

I think I'm stopping for today and it's off to Tol Falas tomorrow to level, gain a couple points for health and then off to face the Master.

Trying with an Archmage here. I figured that without a steady source of ID scrolls, magic mapping scrolls, etc. I'd need a class that's pretty self-sufficient.

I'm really going to miss Health, though. And real armor. And Hammerhand.

I started with an Archmage too... Of the Skeleton Variety...

My plan has worked and picking up an escort quest (of the right variety will solve the Helm/Shoe problem! Yay, me! I will admit it did not occur to me that I could do it that way until the school was offered...

So here she is... The toughest bit about this is not to pick things up and sell them... It seems I just can't help it! It has taken me to 9th level to stop the nasty habit!
