The Ghoul Paradox Mage run has finished, and I'm now (hopefully) moving on to finish up the rest of the Undead Roguelikes playlist. The last character I hope to play for it will be a Skeleton Sun Paladin. Already I'm happily enjoying its current setup and think I might have a chance of reaching the areas my Ghoul characters reached.

I'll note also that I'm slowly trying to wrap my video making up soon. I do plan to come back to do some ToME videos; those planned that I stated here and perhaps also a Let's Learn type of playlist since I got a requests for one. The reason I'm wrapping things up is to take time to consider what I'm going to do with my OS and just for a small break from video making.

Interesting seeing someone play the paradox mage quite differently. For me 4/5 in Turn Back the Time is a must, since that's the most bang for your buck you can get for single targets outside of Quantum Spikes (or endgame Echoes of the Past). There's a hidden problem with the spell in that sometimes one of the balls likes to miss if you shoot both at the same target, but aiming behind seems to help a bit. And on the other hand the damage is even better than it looks like: First, the stat loss is applied before the damage, and so the reduced constitution works as extra damage. Second, the stat loss is a magical effect and can spell shock, making the second ball or a subsequent spell in the next round(s) do 20% more damage.

Another nice hunger-clocky roguelike apart from Brogue (which is great) is Infra Arcana, which has an interesting lovecraftish theme (ant tiles). Sil is also worth a go.

Also you can use Gravity Spike to pull a jerk onto the bolt.

The Paradox Mage can even aim retroactively.

I figure it is time for an update.

So, I've been playing the Skeleton Sun Paladin all during this month - AND IT STILL LIVES!

Through the first half of the game, I have finally managed a character that has survived. I'll soon be taking him into the Far East for the first time, but for now I've uploaded all the videos from the starting point to the defeat of The Master of Dreadfall.

Been nearly two weeks since my last update so I figure I'll drop a note on what's going on. My ventures into the Far East have been quite easy so far, I've managed to complete the Brotherhood of Alchemist potion that required a spider ingredient (sadly the last) and have gone to Maj'Eyal and back. Videos covering this have mostly been uploaded.

Outside of the above though, I have cleared pretty well everything of note from Maj'Eyal - so Mark of the Spellblaze, the Anti-Anti-Magic, and Backup Guardians have been put to rest. In the Far East I've defeated all the Orcish Prides, all the random dungeons except for the one regarding Jewelry, and pretty well all that's left is Eruan, Charred Scar, High Peak, and Sanctum. The end of the run, one way or another, draws near.

The run continues, and at this point - all that is really left to do in my game is run High Peak and win the game. I am however taking my time and doing a few Farportal runs before finishing the game in end.

Also of note is that I have thinking of doing a Let's Learn series after this, since I have yet to do one and at the moment only belmarduk has one out - from before such changes as the Orc Breeding Pits or what not.

Because I was so close to winning the game I decided I would keep playing until I won or lost. The end result is that I finished the run for Davion Skeletalight.

I haven't compressed the videos yet but I will be doing so soon, uploading the finished videos to my youtube channel, and publishing them probably on Friday.
