Okay! First Cursed character, first victory.
Talent-wise, Unnatural Body at max is a MUST, as the healing after killing enemies is unbelievable. Gloom is of course essential, and gloom weakness and maxed life tap are very nice to have.
I decided to go with 5 total runes/infusions: two controlled phase doors, one wild (with curse, hex, poison curing--got tired of scumming for one that also had disease, but it would've made life easier), and one regeneration rune. With the two controlled phase door runes having a cooldown of 7 and range of 12-13, I had some pretty good mobility.
First move was to phase right next to the dragon portal in the NE. Luckily, the phase brought me 1 square away, so one step and BAM, closed. Next, phased as close as I could to the SE portal (undead), putting me about 4 squares away. I ate an epidemic and a weakness disease on the way, but managed to shut the portal with about 50% of HP left. Phased behind the southern chunk of rock, but uh-oh, what's that coming my way, an umber hulk? Well, nothing for it, so hit regeneration and wait for the Argoniel to close the gap. Hey why are my HP's not recovering so well, ow ow oh those diseases actually hurt! Too bad I wasn't patient enough to get a disease-curing wild infusion, but I was much more afraid of Curse of Vulnerability. All I have to say is THANK YOU to my lovely dragonbone wand of healing. +500 HP per heal with 6 charges mmmmmmmmmmmm. Used it once, and decided to abort fighting Argoniel.
Phased twice to the NW corner to close whatever the destruction portal summons (demons?), and started eating some of Elandar's spells. Got down to 300 HP right as I closed the portal, and was STILL suffering from disease, but fortunately one of my controlled phase door runes was up again. Ported to the reverse side of the western rock formation from Elandar, and licked my wounds with the regen rune, and another charge of the lovely dragonbone wand of healing. Elandar decided to leave off pelting Aeryn for a bit to start to blast me, so naturally Mr. Cursed got a bit mad and started RAMPAGING. About 6 turns later (after a Domination, Frenzy, Slash, and a few more hard swings) Elandar lay in a messy pile of gore at my feet. Still mad as an aroused hornet's nest, I blindsided Argoniel and paid him back in full for his filthy diseases.
As the dreaded Void Portal phased from existence, Aeryn and I shared a heartfelt moment of relief and shared triumph. Abruptly, perhaps maddened by the sheer adrenaline of mortal combat and the dark, sinister magics of our opponents, Aeryn called the wrath of her god down upon herself and started to hack at her limbs with her blazing sword (as evidenced by the last messages). I decided it was about time to leave herself to her suicidal orgy and head home, content with achieving Evil Denied and Portal Ender.
