Thoughts & Highlights:

This was my first character to head back to Middle-Earth from the east. As it turns out, this was a good thing, since I flubbed Limmir's quest in exactly the same way I flubbed it with my other endgame fighter: An uruivellas got off a firestorm the turn before I killed it. Still, I found my elemental longsword of massacre there too, so it was worth it :) . Even without Limmir's expert touch, that pearl ring was majorly useful.

Once I got the athame from the armoury, I RAN: Thank you, forum horror-stories.

Potentially fatal mistake near the end of the high peak, using a phase door scroll instead of a magic mapping one, putting me into the middle of a room with a naga psyren. Luckily, I was right next to it, so her mental assault was interrupted by my physical assault. :twisted:

Reached 100% fire AND cold resistance by the end of Vor Pride. :twisted: x 1000

I didn't use overpower, I just put points in it late-game because I couldn't think of anywhere else.

New achievement: FFS. Fail Mount Doom with a character with 100% fire resistance. Ploughing through that fire wyrm's summonstorm took ages both in gametime and realtime.

"Funny," Thought Sparra as she approached the peak of the... high peak, "Shouldn't failing the Mount Doom quest have done something ba--"

"SPARRA YOU BROUGHT ONLY DESTRUCTION TO THE SUNWALL! YOU WILL PAY!"

"... Ah, right."


Lucky I let her live after that; her punching bag impression against the Istari was very useful...

  • The Endgame Fight

This time around, I actually knew what the heck to do with those four portals. Having speeded, shielded, and made myself invisible before entering the portal to the Istari, I phased to each of the portals to close them quickly while Aeryn was being thrown around by the wizards.

Once Aeryn was dead I kept controlled-phase-dooring to either behind the northern obstacle in the room or the southern obstacle. From my other fighter's fight here, I guessed that Pallando was immune to stunning, or at least very resistant. Alatar, on the other hand...

One of the best sights you can see in the game, right there. The fight fell into a pattern: Phase to one end of the room, wait for a wizard (phase away if both appear), either assault or shield pummel+assault (if it's Alatar or Pallando with his bone shield up), then immediately phase to the other end of the room, regardless of health. If Pallando got a curse of vulnerability on me I kept fleeing until it wore off.

Alatar was the first to fall, and seeing as he was the damage-dealer to Pallando's debuffer the fight became a lot safer. I got lucky, too - Pallando used acid splash a lot instead of his far nastier curses. Normal service continued until Pallando had fallen as well, and...

One last thing, though. This may have been an oversight or a bug, but... When I beat the wizards, I was told that I'd have to sacrifice Sparra to stop Big M coming through the portal, which I did. Then...

Still! Now that I've won, that means I'll have to start being horrible to everybody! Right, you have to play exactly how I play, because if you don't, you're FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG...

Nice tactics :)

I am glad you failed mount doom, I saw too many people suceed and not see the other possible outcome :)
As for the blood of life, I know about that, I'm pondering it.
I'll probably disallow it but not sure yet.

Little addition... looking at the deaths.profile file in my tome folder, I can see that the cause of Sparra's death post-game was... Sparra. Aces! :)

Awesome win! I always enjoy reading your character stories.

Incredible gear, too! How long did you take to get all that? Must've been extremely satisfying to see that brilliant mithril plate armor on the ground :D You also seem to have gotten the ultimate one-handed sword.
