Snakes on a... uh....

#1 Post by Zaive »

I didn't know it was possible for hordes of snakes to appear like this. I counted 36 snakes on 1 screen.

And that is a level 26 elder vampire over there. I know enemies can appear in random dungeons now... but still!
Edit: There's also a few Fire drake hatchlings right below that.

Yummy!

It gets worse in other places! Thankfully the dungeon tends to be a little more persistent and so you can disappear upstairs, rest and come back for a second helping!

I think the most random monster I've found out of place so far is a honey tree in amon sul.

Now that I've pulled me head away from the Chronomancy threads and have given myself some play time with my hobbit berserker I have to say...

MONSTER PITS ARE FRICKING AWESOME!!

Found a wolf pit and had a blast clearing it!

Not that I'm complaining but I just hit my third monster pit in less then twice as many dungeon levels. Are they meant to be this common? (I am a hobbit, not sure if that would matter)

*edited* Should be less then twice as many dungeon levels. I think I found three out of five dungeon levels with pits and was diving rather then clearing.

They should be rarer than money vaults (in places where there are money vaults)

I love those snake and wolf pits, it's a great way for fighters to level up. My last fighter had zero physical damage from all those snakes and wolves and just had to worry about poison.

No, although it did take a number of efforts to clear! I came down some stairs and they were in the room I entered...

There were 5 master archers and several spell casters!

yeah, I ran into an undead pit when I was doing my lvl-1-straight-into-tol-falas, fortunately it was not in my starting room, and I was able to clear it without really any problems with LOS carefulness.

really all that is needed for these is care... :P
