Currently, my Summoner is on level 49 of the dungeon and sitting at player level 47. I'm close to learning how it scales past level 50. Wish me luck.
Things I've learned:
Hydra was hugely important early on but utterly useless for about 25 levels now.
You get a category point at level 46. Not sure if you get any more.
The lower resistance ability from Ritch and Wolf are crazy-useful. They've always been useful but in the ID, they're insanely useful.
Gloves of Dispersion are the best thing ever. SO MANY tough bosses have been taken down with them as an integral part.
I didn't get a torque of psychoportation until level 42 of the dungeon. Tricky.
The last skill in Harmony is massively useful and I maxed it. A good heal infusion is super useful but super hard to find for the first 30 levels or so. I've still not found a decent damage shield rune.
Antimagic potion dropped really early. Don't know about access to Fungus though and as such, I haven't used it.
The ID was brutal early on but has since eased up in terms of difficulty with one notable exception of a temporal horror that was bloody murder incarnate. WTF?!? That thing was doing 95% of my life per shot. Rough but it went down, eventually, after a lot of scrambling.

Re: Infinite Dungeon: Summoner...
So apparently at level 60, all of your skills bump up to a 6 cap. As a result, it would behoove one to not waste talent points.
Given how slowly one develops after 50, 1 stat point or talent or generic (and 1 stat and 1 talent every 5th level, I think), planning is critical. I wish I'd realized that beforehand as I wouldn't have dumped points into Hydra.
The real focus has to be on skills that have scale reasonably well infinitely... speaking of which, Thick Skin continues to scale. Level six gets you to 17.3, which if you're a Thalore, means over 24% resist all which is pretty sweet.
This makes me wonder if Necromancer's Sacrifice continues to scale (I doubt it). Disruption Shield too... Anything that reduces flat damage would be nice as well. I'll bet Deflection from Doomed is solid.
Currently, I'm on level 65 and my character is at level 60. Things are progressing reasonably well but more and more I'm coming across enemies with huge burst damage. That's why flat damage reduction would be nice. Antimagic would be nice but I don't think I can get Fungus and as such, it wouldn't be worth it.
