First winner - Ogre Paradox Mage

My very first winner! :D

Wow, this run was a ton of fun. The sheer amount of tactical options available to the new Paradox Mage proved to be not just useful, but also really enjoyable. The defense, powered by Reality Smearing and Energy Decomposition as well as the missile slow from Gravity Locus, was great. For most of the game, I used a healing amulet for that extra bit of durability. Offensively, the Matter tree was probably the greatest asset, providing both crowd control and some really nice damage.

The first cat point was used to unlock Energy, which was a great early defensive upgrade. Spellbinding came next and offered some much needed firepower when Repulsion Blast was Empowered. I also ended up unlocking Flux, though apart from Reality Smearing I didn't manage to make much use of those talents.

Three deaths occurred during the regular game, one of which was a stupid mistake in the Grushnakh Pride. Another happened halfway through High Peak, when a really tough Stair Guardian just devastated me. Finally, a life was lost in the Sanctum battling the last of the two sorcerers (because I didn't want to let Aeryn die).

Hats off to DarkGod and all the contributors for this awesome game; and thanks to the chat crowd for all the helpful advice, encouragement and bad puns!

Congrats on the win!

I notice you didn't spec some pretty powerful talents. A few things I'd recommend for future characters:
1. The Speed Control tree is extremely good. Personally, I recommend something like 4/5/5/2 or 4/5/1/2. It will let you act a lot faster than most enemies, which is good for both offense and defense/escaping.
2. The rest of the Matter tree is quite good for utility and defense. I would do at least 5/2/1/2 here. Being able to remove physical and magical effects with Disintegration is a big deal against some enemies.
3. You didn't unlock Statis at all. Time Shield is a really strong talent and is worth the category unlock by itself. Stop is also great as a ranged AoE stun with some damage. This is usually the first category I unlock and, personally, I would take this over the Spellbinding tree.
4. Contingency is a really powerful talent that can be used to get around cooldowns on defensive talents. I usually use this with Time Shield, but there are plenty of good options, including a normal Shielding rune. Note that inscriptions are considered talent level 1, so if you use it on a rune don't need to level it up all the way.

Thanks for your insightful comments! :D I was rather unfamiliar with the new Paradox Mage, and it has a lot of talents that all look really cool. So I went with whatever seemed the most useful at the time. I'll keep your suggestions in mind when I run my next PM.

You can't argue with success! I do think my suggestions will help if you try it on Roguelike mode or higher difficulty though.

Congrats!

I'm tempted to go get the PM unlock so I can try it after seeing how much fun you found it.
