So, I've finally been playing real genuine roguelike mode, and I've got off to a start I am liking, with a Cornac Shadowblade. I took an inscription at level 1, and Temporal Magic at level 10 (for Time Shield, basically). Thing is, this is a class that has lots of good skills and I need to prioritize how I am going to go. I am liking this start so far and should be able to duplicate it, but I want advice about progressing from here.
General plan is to build up some dual wielding skills, Cunning/Shadow Magic as I go, and I was thinking to eventually take Cunning/Ambush with a category point later. I was thinking about maybe going with no more magic for a while and just sitting on Time Shield 1, while I focus on DEX and CUN, but I'm not sure if this is best or not.
Current level: 12
Current stats:
STR - 16 (21 with items) (dumped the first six points here, took Armor Training 1, have no intention of adding more)
DEX - 28 (32 with items)
CON - 10 base (15 with items, not important now)
MAG - 19 (20 with an item so I have Timeshield)
WIL - 10 base (19 with items)
CUN - 22 (28 with items)
Class Skills:
Dual Weapons: 2-1
Dual Techniques: 1-3
Combat Techniques: 1-1
Dirty Fighting: 3
Lethality: 1-1
Shadow Magic: 1-1
Temporal: 1-1
Generic Skills:
Combat Training: 0-1-3-0-2
Survival: 3-0-1 (the 1 is an escort point, so isn't really reliable)
Clairvoyance: 5-1
Obviously this is a class, and a start, that can go a few different places. Interested in advice as this is actually not a class I've tried much. But this seems like an interesting beginning that even if/when I die, I would like to try again.

Shadowblae help - prioritizing skills
I've killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point, but I've only one more. The last one. The one I'm driving to right now. The only one left.
And when I arrive at my destination, I am gonna kill Bill.

Re: Shadowblae help - prioritizing skills
Lost the original character not long after, to a two-shot two-critical sequence from a rare or elite Storm Drake (can't remember which). Oh well. Not really discouraged by that though. In some sense it's unavoidable at times in this game, but I probably could have played more cautious as well. Any time I die without having used my Phase Door (or other means of escape) now I find myself thinking that I probably messed up. Should have just retreated and let my Time Shield cool down.
Still think it's an interesting class and start, and can certainly get back to that point again.

Re: Shadowblae help - prioritizing skills
I don't have too much experience with Shadowblade, but here's a recent Insane (Roguelike) winner that you can look at for ideas. I'm guessing he floated additional points in Time Shield during the first half of the game.
There are different ways to build the class, of course. I would probably pump Magic instead of Strength and get Celestial/Light from an escort. The heals and damage shields from Light skills get really strong with the Shadowstrike auto-crits and bonus crit multiplier. I see ~10 generic points that could be freed up in the linked build to spend on Light talents.
