Potential Spoilers. Character Progress.

#1 Post by IejirIsk »

Seeing if I can manage to keep a character for longer than a few levels :P. I'm gonna log the character, and progress here. May eventually get back to doing LP's. But, anyway:

Using 1.3 git as of 31 JAN 15:

Kayasin, the female Thaloren puncher, starts her trek for fame, money, and glory by heading into Norgos' lair. Norgos, while once a friend to her people, has started attacking indiscriminately.
Heading deep into the forest, she turns a corner and is immediately ambushed by mounds of squirming worms, and a few snakes. With some quick footwork, and some of the gifts nature has bestowed upon her, she manages to get some breathing room to relax for a moment. Finding a few items, (including an abominable wand), she manages to get to a break in the woods, to catch her breath, preparing to go around the corner.
---
I put the initial points: 2 DEX, 1 CUN. Classwise: rush for some early mobility, double strike cause i gonna hit things, Uppercut for stun and to use the combo points, and lastly, Tactical expert for some extra defence.
Generics: wrath of woods, armor train (cant remove), Accuracy, Hack, and unarmed mastery. Debated to move the wrath to a second Hack'Back, but decided against it.
I then switch out the gauntlets for gloves, set wrath on auto on enemy.
Found: leather cap (+2 str, +10 psave), ironbooties (+3def, +3 ranged def [they stack?], 5% light/temp res), pick (-5 fat, +2str, dig)

-------------------------

Kayasin turned around the bend, a found a thief apparently left behind when a friend left him. She decided to see if she could help him, and perhaps he would turn from his thieving ways. After battling snakes, wolves, and even reanimated skeletons, she was able to lead her new friend home. In return, he taught her how to spot things that were hidden from view.

---
Thief escort: piercing sight. is 3 down the list, and figured it'd be the most useful of the options.
Level2: 2 CUN, 1 CON. got double strike to level 2, and picked up vitality. Picked up some steady iron gauntlets. (acc +12(or +7 accuracy on there twice), psave/msave +5, and perfect control). wishing gloves gave useful speed comparisons. and naturally transmuted everything not using for the moneys.

----------------------
Around the next corner, was Ulfigolar. He claimed to practice something that wasn't magic, but akin to it. Not trusting his words, she offered to help him find his portal. Not that she was going to help him get home, however. Succeeding on helping Ulfigolar get to his friend's portal, she quickly focuses on nature, as he gets transported somewhere else. She isn't sure where, just that any being of magic, shouldn't be helped. She felt nature help her become more dexterous in return. Turning north, she meets Norgos, who somehow pulls her to him before she can react. Fighting for her life, she quickly stuns him, and keeps bashing on him, until he falls. Saddened by the loss, she continues on her trek. Looking around where he fell, she finds a strange rod, and a weird knife she decides to keep around, incase they prove useful. She also finds a piece of armor, as well as a lantern, cleaner than hers. She examines the rod closely, and feels the world shift. When she looks up, she sees herself at the outskirts of the forest. Confused, she heads back to Shatur to relax and clear her head.

---
Yup. Sacrificed Ulfi for the lulz... and some stats.
Level3: 3 CUN, doublestrike to 3, and temporarily hack to 2. (cant stand unspent points)
Level4: 3 CUN (debated 2 DEX but decided against it), took out rush for backhand + counter), mobile defense (cause defense = good) and unified body cause stats are good too
found: Unerring scapel (for magi quest, 2 con hat saving in case for tough skin, bright lantern (+4), and leather armor (+15% acid)

And so, Chapter 1: Norgos' Lair, is complete.

---------------------------------------------------------
Chapter 2:

Kayasin recovered from her vertigo, and sets out once more. Still saddened about the necessity with Norgos, she set away from the forest she knew as home. She met a friendly traveler on the road near the mountains to the east, claiming to be an aspiring apostate. While hating the accursed, she isn't too petty to deny him help in acquiring his dreams. He mentioned something about Angolwyn, but he wasn't more forthcoming. He did ask for a simple artefact. She shrugged, until he asked for the simple knife she had found. Giving him the simple knife, he told more about the apostates, and where they lived. Curious, despite its potential dangerous, she explored the town. Feeling sickened by the feeling of all the magics, she fled back north. Spotting a forest in the distance, she decided to explore it, above the human town of Derth.
---
Gave unerring scapel to 'apprentice'. Saw a couple rings that may be nice, or a heroism infusion. all in all, wont miss it.
L5: 2 DEX, 1 CUN, doublestrike to 4, Counter attack to 2.

-------
She carefully explores the forest, and sees alot more trolls than she is used to seeing, compared to her home. Defending herself, she eventually gets charged by a Large hornet swarm she decides to call Eilinebremira. She suddenly got a feeling she was being stalked, and was fearful. Once she defeated the swarm, she felt much better. She managed to find a neat ring, shortly after killing Eilinebremira, as well as a cloak she quickly wrapped around herself.
---
found: copper ring of sensing (blind +22%, infra +3, see stealth +6, invis +7), cloak of Eldoral (+1 cun, +2 dex)

-------
Kayasin was swarmed as she turned the corner, but easily cleared herself out, and found herself intrigued by some ivy that seemed to have a mind of her own. 'Beterelaith,' she heard in her head, as a hound suddenly appeared next to her, then a ritch. She had a sudden idea, and while painful, she pulled the ivy out by its roots, and the beasts vanished. With a sigh, she set out deeper into the forest. Traveling through a small opening in the brush, she came to a rather large, grey troll. With a shuddering, "Prox Smash!" he charges out with his meaty fists. However, she quickly, and easily subdues him. This prox seems to have been covering an assortment of items, including what appears to be a small foot, a large staff, and a note detailing more treasure deeper in.
---
found: heal infus(dex) 79, regen 75/5 (replaced original), ring (def, 2 CUN, stun immunity, .8 life regen) decided to wear foot
Level 6: 2 DEX, 1 CUN, concussive punch, mobile def to 2,
-----
Seeing the blood on the ground, she carefully steps into this lair of a troll. Coming around a bend in the path she hears a loud, "Bill will eat you!" as a troll rushes at her with a giant club. Bill was a tough opponent, forcing her to rely very heavy on nature, but, he finally went down. She collected the jewels, and decided to head to this town of Derth, to relax and sell off the jewels she found.
---
also found a mental/magic wild infus
L7: 2 DEX 1 CUN, backhand +1 for range 6, mobile def to 3

Chapter 2 END

Kayasin tried that rod again, and as the world faded out again, she found she could handle it better. Trekking back to the nearby town of Derth. As she walks into town, a hooded cornac in the northern streets invites her for a word. Coming closer, he mentions that in return for a quick fight, he would reward her. Not doubting her abilities in the least, she heartily accepted. After the quick bouts, Rej regales her with tales of his old adventures.
---
L8+arena: 2 DEX 1 CUN, axe kick, heighten reflex, unarmed mastery 2, unified body 2
-----
Going out to explore some more, she found a small town of Last Hope, and the town of Zigur. In Last Hope she found a pair of gauntlets that she decided to pick up, as well as an evolved infusion she would have to remember. Heading back to see where else she could help, she got ambushed on the road south of Zigur. Travelling south, she found her way to the land of her brethren, the Shalore. She entered a cave to take a rest, and found herself surrounded by crystals animated by some perverse magic. Traversing deeper into the cave, fighting many bears that seem to be cursed, she finally comes to a round crystal that seems to be aware. Dancing around it, she manages to avoid most of its magic, and shatters it. Rubbing her fists, she relaxes to take the nap she entered the cave for.
---
L9: 2 DEX 1 CUN, heighten reflex to 2 cause such a huge boost, rush to 1 again.
-----
She spots a camp in the distance, and heads there, to meet the nice people. Sadly, they were not very nice. She quickly moves through them, trying to find their leader to talk some sense into him, but, alas, there was no peace to be had.
---
found eelskin armor
L10: 2 DEX 1 CUN. rush2, butterfly kick and an insc slot, since i think the class points > unarmed discipline right now.
-----
She next traveled back toward Derth, and came across the ruins of Kor'Pul. The halls, however, weren't not silent. Some fool had awoken the dead to walk. Found some diary entry written, detailing experiments with some guy named Zemykkis. Finding a few more more notes, she was able to put the shade, and the undead to their dutiful rest.
---
found astral bindings (pity going more toward antimagic) ... and... wow... the on hit effects... and 100% temporal darkness conversion? that mean 50/50?
L11: 2 DEX 1 CUN, setup so i can get exploit def, and light of foot.

------
Starting to feel a little homesick, she headed back home, and heard about another problem in the forest. So she entered what had been termed, the 'Heart of Gloom'. She travels through what feels like to be a dream, and remembers it just as well. She seems to recall a horror, but cannot remember any details of it.
---
L12: 2 DEX 1 CUN, exploit weakness, reflex defenses.

End of Ch 3, and the T1 dungeons.
